While happy with his results over the course of the weekend, results that see him move up to sixth in the standings and close the gap to Mike Jordan in the Indy title chase, he admitted he was disappointed not to get more from race day.

“Overall I'm happy with our results but disappointed at the same time as we had really strong race pace, probably the best of anyone,” he added. “Our qualifying form held us back on Saturday but we made some good changes overnight and really came back strong on race day.

“A lot of people are comparing us to Team Dynamics in the Nineties when they were in there fighting with all the big teams. It's a great feeling and the messages of support we get from the public, mostly complete strangers, during the pit lane walkabout autograph sessions are really appreciated. Our aim now is to finish the season as the top BMW and to win the independents trophy.”
