Matt Neal, Dave Pinkney and Tom Ferrier are out of the remainder of race day at
Brands Hatch following the opening lap shunt in the 22nd round of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship.
The trio were all involved in the eleven car pile-up that forced the race to be red-flagged after
Mat Jackson spun in front of the field exiting Paddock Hill Bend - being collected by Neal who in turn was then hit by Pinkney's Alfa Romeo. Both the Halfords Honda and A-Tech Alfa will not be repairable for the remaining races.
Ferrier's Motorbase SEAT Toldeo suffered extensive damage to the front after running into Jackson's
BMW on the side of the circuit and is now sitting under covers in the team garage, while a number of teams are fighting the clock to try and make it out for race two.
Jackson MSport's, Quest Racing and TH Motorsport are all hoping to make sure that Jackson, Eoin Murray and John George can take up their places on the grid, while Kartworld is fighting to repair the MG ZS of Fiona Leggate. The sister car of Jason Hughes is more likely to be ready to compete.
One car that won't make it for the second race is the BMW 120d of Rick Kerry, with the AFM Racing team needing further time to try and get the only diesel powered car on the grid ready to race. They remain hopeful that Kerry will be able to take the start of the final race.
