"I'm confident that I can be up to speed in time for Brands Hatch," he said. "I'm not looking to hang about and I want to get myself into a position to be fighting for points and fighting for wins. I see no reason why that can't happen.

"Of course it is hard to make predictions for Brands Hatch as I haven't done a race weekend yet so I guess we'll just find out how it goes when we get to the first race. It'll all get mixed up a bit with the success ballast and with the reverse grid, so we'll just have to see where we end up."
