Michael Doyle's family-run In-Tune Racing Honda Civic Type R made its debut at the HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship media day at Rockingham Motor Speedway, displaying the livery it will carry throughout 2008.

The car was only a static display, however, despite the 20-year old Scot having hoped to make his track debut during the afternoon's official test session. With his Honda's engine undergoing a rebuild, the former ELF Renault Clio Cup racer will be forced to watch the action from the sidelines after unveiling the predominantly white colour scheme for the year.

“Being involved in the media day is fantastic and, although I'm disappointed that we won't be able to run the Honda today, we didn't want to miss the opportunity of coming down to Rockingham to show the livery we'll be running on the car this year,” Doyle said.

“We've been working hard to get the necessary sponsorship on board to enable us to take part in the BTCC this year, and we're confident everything is falling into place nicely. I can guarantee we'll be at Brands Hatch for the first three rounds, and I simply can't wait.

“Racing in touring cars has been my goal since I first started karting - it's the most high profile championship in the UK and, with live television coverage this year on ITV4, it's going to be absolutely massive. Roll on Brands Hatch!”

Doyle has so far confirmed two sponsors for his rookie season in touring cars, with In-Tune Garage Services and Andrew Watt Car Components both featuring on the Civic. Team race operations will be handled by vastly experienced ex-Synchro Motorsport engineer, Andy Scott.
