Knockhill has announced a special tribute to the late David Leslie after revealing that a corner at the Fife circuit is to be renamed in tribute to the former BTCC race winner.

Leslie was one of five people who died in a plane accident late last month, along with Apex Motorsport team chief Richard Lloyd, and will now be forever remembered at the Scottish venue with the naming of 'Leslies Bend', the challenging left-hander located at the bottom of SEAT Curve.

Leslie's widow Jane, his sons James and Graham, and his father David Sr will all be present this Sunday for the latest rounds of the Avon Tyres British GT Championship when the corner will be renamed.

Leslie's former Nissan team-mate Anthony Reid will do a demonstration run in the Primera raced by the pair back in 1997.

"We are honoured that David's family and close friend Anthony Reid have willingly agreed to attend this Sunday's race meeting to help everyone who will be here honour a great racing driver, sportsman, gentleman and friend," Knockhill PR manager Ray Smith said.

Leslies Bend was the scene of a dramatic roll for the then Ecurie Ecosse driver back in 1993, an incident from which Leslie escaped unscathed.
