Team Halfords man wins for Leslie at Rockingham.

“You have to race against them in a different way,” he said. “This Honda is really quick through the corners and I could stretch out through the twisty bits but when we got onto the oval, it is just so fast on the straight; it's unbelievable. You have to keep your head down through the corners to not lose time.”

The BTCC now heads to Donington Park in three weeks time for the third round of the year, and Shedden said he was hopeful of repeating the form that has seen him win three times at the venue in the past two years.

“In the last two years I have won at Donington Park,” he said. “In'06, I took a double win and then won the first race last year so there are happy memories and it's been a happy hunting ground for the team. Hopefully I can win there again in three weeks time.”
