Indy points leader eager to bounce back from Rockingham disappointment.

Mat Jackson is confident of solid home run as the HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship heads to Donington Park this weekend for the third round of the year.

Jackson endured a disappointing end to he weekend at Rockingham last time out when he was forced to retire from race three having earlier taken a first win of the campaign in race two.

That win allowed the BMW Dealer Team UK man to strengthen his lead in the Independents' championship while he also remains second behind Fabrizio Giovanardi in the overall standings going into what is his local circuit on the calendar.

"I don't anticipate any problems at Donington, as long as the weather stays fine we should be in good shape," he said. "We know the car is strong; our only slight disadvantage is that I will once again be carrying 36 kilos of success ballast for qualifying but, I had my best qualifying result of the season there last year, and will be looking for another strong starting position for race one on Sunday."

Team manager Chris Tee said he felt that Jackson will be one to watch again this coming weekend as he looks to build on his ever growing reputation, adding that he felt like there are more strong results to be collected at the East Midlands venue.

"Last year, Mat finished fourth in one of the races and we know we have made a big performance gain with the car since last year which we hope will be reflected in the results this weekend," he said. "The BMW is without doubt one of the strongest off the line and if we get ahead in the first part of the circuit I think we will have a good chance of more strong results."
