One lucky fan donating just £2.00 to the Team Halfords-supported Help the Heroes charity at
Donington Park this weekend will win the chance to enjoy a high-speed passenger lap of the East Midlands circuit during the latest rounds of the HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship.
Fans who buy a Heroes wristband at Donington for just £2.00 to support the charity on race day [4 May] will each receive a numbered ticket, with all tickets entered into a special draw which will take place following the conclusion of the first BTCC race of the weekend.
The person holding the lucky ticket once the draw has taken place will then be invited to sit in the Halfords Honda for a lap of the circuit – timetable and track conditions permitting.
The replica Honda Civic is fitted with a full Super 2000 bodykit as seen on the race cars of Gordon Shedden and Tom Chilton, and features a number of other competition components, including a full rollcage.
Both Shedden and Chilton will carry logos and branding to support the Help the Heroes cause this weekend at Donington Park in an effort to raise awareness for the charity as it strives to raise £6 million to provide essential facilities for rehabilitating those wounded during battle.
Despite only being launched in October 2007, Help for Heroes – which is supported by Prince William and Prince Harry – has already raised more then £4 million in its first six months.
