Michael Doyle and John George were both left with damaged cars after a coming together than led to a brief red flag, while Rob Collard will start at the rear of the field after gearbox issues on his Motorbase BMW. Stuart Oliver was only able to complete nine laps during the session in his SEAT Toledo, but team-mate Chris Stockton was at least able to complete some meaningful running for the first time and managed the 19th quickest time.
