After taking the fight to the established stars during the final race at
Thruxton, Andrew Jordan will look to continue his impressive start to life in the HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship this weekend at Croft as the series makes it annual trip to the North East.
Following on from his double Independents' win at
Donington Park, the teenager emerged as one of the stars of the weekend last time out in Hampshire when he looked well set for a podium finish in race three.
Having started from pole thanks to the reverse grid rules, Jordan became embroiled in a heated battle for a place on the podium, pushing former champion
Jason Plato for position while holding off the challenge of both
Mat Jackson and Fabrizio Giovanardi.
Although a mechanical issue forced him out of the race before the finish, Jordan served notice on his potential and will now look to impress again just a week after his 19th birthday.
"It was good to be racing with people like that and it's the best way to learn, he said as he reflected on his Thruxton performance. It was an amazing day. I think I proved a lot at Thruxton and I'm really looking forward to
Croft."
Father Mike will also aim to impress over the course of the weekend at a circuit he admits is one of the most popular on the BTCC calendar.
"Croft is a great track and always gets a good crowd," he said. "It has got the slowest hairpin of anywhere we go and it's got the huge high-speed challenge of the
Jim Clark Esses, with not much run off. So it's a circuit of real contrast."
