Motorbase Performance head to Snetterton for the latest round of the HiQ British Touring Car Championship in buoyant mood after making a significant step forward last time out at
Croft.
Motorbase have endured a frustrating time developing the
BMW 320si this year, but a fourth and fifth place finish for Rob Collard at Croft is destined to provide the breakthrough the team were searching for.
Backing that result up with a solid performance in the mid-season test at Snetterton, team boss David Bartrum is confident the team have turned a corner and can now starting aiming for podiums on a regular basis.
"The team has done a lot of hard work and I'm a lot happier with where we were at Croft," he said. "We were in contention all weekend and we learnt a lot."
Collard, meanwhile, was thrilled to get his season going at Croft and, along with team-mate Steven Kane, is expecting something similar to occur at
Snetterton.
"A fourth and a fifth at Croft was really good for the team," said Collard, who also led the third race before he was spun around by Adam Jones. "Snetterton should really suit the car, and it should be good. We should come back strong at Snetterton," said Rob.
"After Croft, everything is positive," added Kane. "We've made a real difference to the cars and it certainly seems to be working. I've got realistic hopes for a podium over the second half of the season.
"If we can keep the development going well, I can see a podium coming. Everything we do is really starting to make sense and our season really starts at Snetterton."
