Gordon Shedden admits he is looking forward to a change in fortune after another trying weekend for the Team Halfords man at
Snetterton.
Shedden has endured an up and down season in the HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship with his campaign having been beset by bad luck that has left him outside the top six in the standings.
Having qualified as the top petrol powered car in third place on the grid, Shedden lost a place when the lights went out in race after a stunning getaway from team-mate Chilton saw him blast past the sister Honda Civic and defending champion Fabrizio Giovanardi into third from his fifth place on the grid. From there, Shedden remained in position to the flag to finish just off the podium.
The Scot ran second in race two following a Safety Car period but then ran wide at Coram and dropped down to eighth place and his day ended in disappointment when he was forced to retire from the final race after contact with Steven Kane while dicing for second place.
"I can't buy a result right now,” he said. “We learned so much from the test and the Civic was going really well here.
“Things were conspiring against us and the car isn't slow in a straight line, but the diesels were in a different league in the first race, you could be on their bumper at the start of the straight and they would be six car lengths clear by the end!
