"If you have a bad weekend, it can seriously dent your hopes of the championship," he said. "This is going to be a free-for-all and I don't think anyone should be betting on it.

"It will be a tough weekend for everybody and a tough scrap for all of us. Oulton should be good for our Vauxhalls as well as the SEATs. But there will be ten drivers who will fancy their chances of winning a race."
