Mat Jackson will look to impress this weekend as he returns to the scene of his maiden victory in the HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship.
The
BMW Dealer Team UK man secured a popular win in the third race of the weekend at
Oulton Park twelve months ago after holding off the challenge of SEAT's
Jason Plato and will now look to try and add to his winning tally – with three more wins having come since that maiden success last year.
Indeed, Jackson heads to Oulton on the back of a win in the final race of the weekend last time out at
Snetterton and he will now hope for further success to improve his fourth place in the championship standings, with second placed
Matt Neal just 15 points ahead.
“It's always a good feeling to return to the scene of your first major victory in a championship,” he said, “and you would like to think it would be repeated again, especially coming from a win last time out.
“I'm looking forward to the weekend, as Oulton always produces some great race action.”
Team principal Tony Jackson added that the team would be looking to score big from the weekend in an effort to strengthen its championship position.
“The team has been working hard on its test programme during the build-up to the weekend,” he said. “Oulton Park is a driver's track and one which is well suited to Mat's skills. This weekend we will be looking to score as many points as possible at this crucial stage of the series.”
