I'm also in talks with some sportscar teams and something very exciting has cropped up over the last month or so, so we're possibly looking at getting a Champ Car ride with an American Le Mans seat as well.
Crash.net:
That would be something of a change in direction for you after a primarily single-seater background....
JW:
It would, but I think it would be great if I could run the two programmes together. Obviously, in ALMS, an LMP1 car has huge downforce and slick tyres, so I can't imagine that the driving style between that and a Champ Car would be too different, so I think the two could run quite nicely alongside each other, and the calendars all fit in quite well so, best case scenario, I'll be doing both series. But you never know. I know what motorsport is like and things can go wrong at the last minute, so if I end up in one of those series, I'll be very happy as well.
Crash.net:
Only the other week, you were made a full member of the British Racing Drivers' Club as well. How much of an honour is that?
JW:
That's fantastic. I'm really honoured to be with the BRDC - I've been trying to get myself in there for a few years now, so to be accepted and have all the members agree for me to join them is a great honour, and I'm very privileged. It's fantastic.
Crash.net:
James, thanks for taking the time to talk to
Crash.net.
JW:
Thank you.
