Franck Perera has revealed that he should be in a position to confirm his plans for 2008 in the first week of January.
Perera, who had never raced in America until this year, became the first Champ Car Atlantic driver in the last eleven years to finish all twelve races in the top-five,
en-route to convincingly securing the FA 'Rookie of the Year' crown.
In the end he closed the year with eight podiums, three wins, two pole positions and one fastest lap and now he has set his sights on graduating to the Champ Car World Series.
"I want to be in Champ Car next year for sure," confirmed the Frenchman, who along with Ryan Briscoe was one of the first drivers to be signed to the Toyota
F1 Young Drivers' Development programme back in 2001.
"We had a pre-agreement before Christmas with a CC team but my management CJMotorsport asked for the contract back so we could be free to do a deal with other teams who are ready to commit now.
"I hope to announce my new team the first week of January."
Perera meanwhile was recently voted the 'Minor League Rookie of the Year 2007' by fans on
SpeedTV.com: "I want to thank all the fans for voting for me. I really enjoyed racing in America this year," 'Fearless' summed-up.
