Norisring is the half way point of the DTM season and I am hoping that I can start here as I mean to go on for the rest of the year. I need points and I am desperate to get them.
Brands Hatch was a very frustrating weekend for me – without going back through everything, basically there was a communication issue which meant I didn’t qualify where I should. Starting 16th on a circuit where it is notoriously difficult to overtake, well my weekend was over on Saturday.
Now though it is a whole new experience as I head to the street carnival which is Norisring! It is Audi’s home race so not only is there a massive crowd, but they will all be cheering us on. I also think this race could suit my 2005 Audi A4 due to the nature of the track. A series of long straights and heavy braking should suit us – our speed in the straights is good but where we lack in comparison to the new cars is on down force. Hopefully here it might balance out.
There has been lots for Audi fans to cheer about over the last week with a great performance at Le Mans. My cousin, Tim Mullen, was actually racing for Scuderia Ecosse but unfortunately his car was one of the many who didn’t finish.
And finally I wanted to say well done to
Lewis Hamilton who I always battled hard with on the track. He is giving a lot of hope to young drivers. For me personally when I see Lewis, Heikki and Nico all doing well in
F1 it gives me a lot of enthusiasm and drive, I have beaten them before and hopefully I will one day get the chance to beat them again.
Now though I am packing my bags and heading to Germany. Hopefully this will two weekends in a row for Audi fans to have a party!
