Bernd Schneider took his first victory of the year at the Nurburgring on Sunday, coming through to take the spoils on the seventh round in this year's DTM by just under six seconds.
Schneider gambled near the end, opting to stay out on slick tyres as the rain intensified and it almost backfired as Paul di Resta pitted for wets and charged back up the pack.
In the end though, Schneider did enough and di Resta ran out of laps to overhaul the veteran.
Britain's Jamie Green meanwhile took the final spot on the podium, 7 seconds further back, having been overhauled by di Resta on the penultimate lap.
Green's fellow countryman Gary Paffett was next up in fourth, to give Mercedes a 1-2-3-4 finish.
Current championship leader Timo Scheider was the first of the Audi's home in fifth, passing team-mate Mattias Ekstrom on the final lap. Like di Resta he pitted late on for wet tyres. Scheider now remains in the lead in the drivers' championship - although he is only four points up on Green, who moves up to second in the standings.

Ralf Schumacher took the final point for eighth - his first ever points result in the German tin-top series.
Markus Winkelhock and Mathias Lauda rounded out the top ten – the latter losing a place on the very last lap.
In terms of retirements four drivers' failed to finish, including pole sitter Tom Kristensen, who went off on lap 25 at the first corner and got stuck in the gravel. Martin Tomczyk, Katherine Legge and Maro Engel were also not classified. Legge and Engel tangled at the final corner on lap 26, while Tomczyk went out three laps later with damaged rear suspension.
