First DTM pole for Mercedes since June 2007.

Of the rest Mathias Lauda was 15th, only one hundredth of a second off getting into Q2, while Maro Engel and Gary Paffett were next up, with Susie Stoddart and Katherine Legge bringing up the rear.

"The car was great and from this morning's free practice until qualifying I improved by one and a half seconds. This was a big step into the right direction, but unfortunately I missed the second part by 11 thousandths. It's a shame that due to my yellow flag penalty yesterday I will be relegated by five places and have to start from the back of the grid," stated Lauda.

Tomorrow's race will now start at 14.00 hours [local time], with a distance of 52 laps - around 180 kilometres - to run.
