Timo Scheider prepares for a thrilling finale at Hockenheim after seeing the title snatched away from him at Le Mans.

Comment on this Story
Timo Scheider was philosophical about the race that not only prevented him from winning the DTM title one round early, but has allowed Paul di Resta into the thick of the fight ahead of the season finale.

Scheider was heading for the 2008 title as Audi's decision to persevere with a dry set-up on a damp surface paid dividends early on, while di Resta was left out of sync when he was forced to pit after just five laps.

However, a shower in the latter stages of the race forced Scheider to pit for a third time, dropping him down to an eventual sixth place finish, while di Resta rocketed back up the order to claim second place.

Furthermore, Scheider holds just a two point lead over di Resta heading into the final race of the season at Hockenheim, ensuring a thrilling head-to-head between the two potential first-time winners.

"It was the right decision to go into the race with slicks. Advancing from fifth to first is definitely something special. Unfortunately, we timed our second stop two laps too early, that's too bad. We'll chalk this up to experience now and concentrate on the finale."
