The balance is always to try and get the car out and get the mileage done and understand it and make sure you have got all the evolutions and more incorporated for the rest of the year.
Super Aguri are very late – and will unveil their car a few days before the GP - but they are a young team and I don’t think it will have a huge affect. They did a great job last year turning up late and producing a grand prix team from scratch and they will cope.
Spyker are under new ownership. The team now has a new philosophy and different focus. They also have another designer in there, Mike Gascoyne, who departed from
Toyota. Whether there is enough time for him to make an impact this season, we will have to wait and see. It will be interesting to watch.
Toro Rosso just seems to have dropped away and there seems to have been some dispute as to what they wanted to do driver wise.
They tested lots of different guys and that destabilises the current two – while also, I suppose, keeping them on their toes, to make sure they are hungry enough to compete.
We will have to wait and see with those guys. They never really came through and showed a huge amount of promise last season – and we all expected a bit more, considering the configuration of engine they had. We will see - it is still an organisation that is changing from its previous years, as the old Minardi team.
So to sum up I’d have to go for
Ferrari this weekend, with Massa starting on pole but ultimately finishing up third in the race, behind his team-mate, Raikkonen, who will win and
Fernando Alonso, who will begin his title defence with second.
Enjoy the race...
