"I've never raced at Sepang before, but I am familiar with the layout and am looking forward to getting back in the car," Sutil said, "I learnt a lot in Australia and now I want to put that into practice in Malaysia. The aim is to be fast, not to pick up any penalties - which I know won't happen again - and do a good race."
Super Aguri F1 – Takuma Sato (#22), Anthony Davidson (#23):
The performance of the Super Aguri F1 team was one of the biggest surprises of the Australian Grand Prix recently particularly their performance in qualifying and the fact Takuma Sato made it through to Q3.
Like all virtually all the teams, the Leafield-based outfit ran at Sepang last week and it was a crucial outing for the squad, as it was their first test with the SA07, which was only launched a few days prior to the event at Albert Park. During the four-day programme Sato and his team-mate, Anthony Davidson spent it continuing work on set-up, control systems and aero settings, as well as analysing the two
Bridgestone Potenza tyres available.
"It was the first proper test with our new car, so there were many things that we needed to try with the SA07. For the first two days we had consistent, hot and dry weather which meant that we were able to complete a lot of set-up work. The car was reliable once again and we were able to make maximum use of the one and a half days that I was running,” said Sato. “We completed a good programme and it was a very productive test so I am very much looking forward to coming back here this week."
