Blundell's view: United States Grand Prix.

Tuesday, 12th June 2007

"We have the second of the two events in North America this weekend and, after the Canadian Grand Prix, which was undoubtedly the most incident-packed race of the season, Indianapolis has a lot to live up to..." - Mark Blundell.

Nico Rosberg has been showing him the way a bit in the other Williams and while qualifying wasn’t very good, with him starting 20th and Nico seventh, he did turn things around in the grand prix itself.

Renault’s Heikki Kovalainen also got a good result with fourth and, considering he has had a bit of a tough time since stepping up to F1, I was happy to see him do well.

It was an important result for the regie too, especially as Giancarlo Fisichella was disqualified for the same reason as Massa.

The other person who surprised was Takuma Sato, and for him to take sixth for Super Aguri really was a turn-up. Sato only gave the outfit its first point in Spain and for him now to add three more points to that total is very credible.

The fact he did it in style as well, overtaking the two Toyotas and the reigning world champion in the closing stages really was something that had to be seen to be believed. Well done to them…

Of the rest, Ralf took the final point and, for him, that was something, because his year to date has been very dismal. Of course, there is speculation about his future at Toyota, but we will have to wait and see if any of it actually proves to be true.

So, to sum up, if I had to make a prediction for this weekend, I’d probably go for the McLarens and, given the way Lewis is going, I’d love to see him get win number two.

Enjoy the race...
