Press Snoop: Kool Kimi wins Spanish GP.

Polesitter KIMI RAIKKONEN/McLaren led from flag to flag Sunday to win the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona, and it wasn't much of a contest.It was his second pole of the season and his first win this year - third of his F1 career.

Thirteen drivers finished the race, with six of them on the lead lap. The race had warm, sunny weather - 77 degrees F/25C ambient, and 100F/38C on the track.


Both Minardi drivers fell out early, after stalling on the grid due to electrical problems. This brought out the Safety Car for the first two laps, while the cars were removed.

The GP2 support series ran two races in Spain. Saturday's race was won by GIANMARIA BRUNI, followed by American SCOTT SPEED, 1.2 seconds behind, after a hard-fought race. Renault Development Driver HEIKKI KOVALAINEN/Arden was third. The top eight inverted the start for Sunday's race. Renault Development Driver, JOSE MARIA LOPEZ/DAMS Renault won Sunday, with a three-second margin of victory over NELSON PIQUET Jr, son of you know who. Speed was third. Kovalainen is leading the points, despite retiring Sunday with clutch problems.


The next Formula One race is the Monaco Grand Prix in Monte Carlo, the world's most famous street race.
