Montoya said: "I think maybe they had something a little bit tricky and everybody thought it was open and so for that reason they asked them to do something different. If it was a big advantage it may affect them a little bit, but if they do have a good solution then it shouldn't. I don't know. It shouldn't really. I will be amazed if it does."

Barrichello agreed, and Fishichella said: "I think if there was something illegal, then it was correct to make adjustments and as all the other teams have to be legal. I don't know if they have a new aerodynamic part it has to be legal."
One change to the Albert Park circuit since last year is the runoff area at the outside Driver's Left apex at Turn Three. It was paved for the Commonwealth games, as it is outside the Aquatic Center and was used for parking. The word is that the powers to be are considering bitumen more and more for runoffs rather than gravel because the cars can keep running and continue rather than get bogged down and trapped.
DAVID BRABHAM won the Ultimate Speed Demonstration Thursday afternoon, racing a
BMW 120i street car. Brabs, at 2:53.0000 narrowly edged BMW Sauber Friday driver ROBERT KUBICA at 2:53.1900, who beat STEVEN RICHARDS in the Jack Daniels Holden Commodore V8, who ran a 2:53.2800.
The Speed Demonstration is a handicap race with a staggered start. Brabs was first off the starting grid with a zero handicap. Richards had a 45 second and Kubica had a 68. The Friday handicap will be different and hasn't yet been announced.
Brabham is in town for his father's eightieth birthday party. The Australian Grand Prix Corporation is holding a special charity celebration Thursday night in honor of SIR JACK BRABHAM with 350 people, including SIR JACKIE STEWART; but the big party is next week in Sydney. David came to Australia early at the behest of his brother, GEOFF BRABHAM, to help out instructing the BMW Celebrity Drivers at Sandown.
