MICHAEL SCHUMACHER will let it be known at Monza his decision regarding what he will do at the end of this racing season. If he wins the United States Grand Prix Sunday at IMS, he will be the only driver to have five victories at the famed Brickyard. Right now he's tied at four wins with AJ FOYT, RICK MEARS and AL UNSER.
JUAN PABLO MONTOYA is the only USGP driver who has also run the track in the other direction. He won the 2000 IRL Indianapolis 500 race. IMS is the only
F1 course with banking. It runs countercourse for the F1 race, opposite the direction run for the Indy 500 and Brickyard 400.
Montoya is still reviewing his options for next year and wouldn't say if he's going to sign with
McLaren or not. He said he is a private person and doesn't tell things to the press. He does, however, visit with his Colombian fans when they come to Indy and have a Saturday night gathering.
TIAGO MONTEIRO - the only Portuguese driver in F1 - holds the record for the most laps completed in a season. He also was elated over Portugal beating England in World Cup soccer Saturday.
MARK WEBBER is unsure which engine manufacturer will be with
Williams next year. Cosworth isn't very well known, he said, and there has been a call for something more familiar, so it could be
Toyota.
JENSON BUTTON is looking forward to his new team doing better and better this season, and having the new wind tunnel now should be a big help. He is also excited about racing at IMS - especially coming around turn one with that grandstand filled with fans.
