While McLaren was busy unveiling the new MP4-23 in Germany, Ferrari chief executive Jean Todt has claimed that the Woking-based team will go into the new season with a clear advantage in the title race.
If every team in F1 contributed to making a different car part or component, which get distributed in the same way through out every team, it would be good idea, then the only thing that would make the cars different would be the design, the engine and the driver!

well it's Jan 7th and the complaints have started already...why does such a highly competitive, world class team like ferrari worry so much about everyone else...just focus on your own team and stop this continual discrediting of everyone else so F1 fans can stop rolling their eyes. sportsmanship people - beat them at their own game don't complain until the game gets changed to your rules so you can win...suck it up

Is it not a bit late to start moaning about this? Or is the excuse bank getting topped up early cos the new car looks identical to the old car!!

Hmm. Let me fetch my crystal ball. I foresee....a major official complaint raised against McLaren by Ferrari on the Monza weekend.
Maybe he is just uncomfortable having proprietary technology from another team, and McLaren at that, lurking on his cars. ;) That would never do!!

I would not put it past the immoral mclaren team to try to sabotage the ECUs at a crucial stage of the race if they are not winning!
After all this is the same mclaren team that had to apologize for using Ferrari's designs on the 2007 and 2008 race car. This is the same mclaren team that Lied for 5 months and then publicly apologized for their blatant lies!

If Ferrari can supply to A1GP then it is ok for MaClaren to supply to everyone in F1!

At the end of the day Ferrari supporting conspiracy theorists...do you honestly believe an international company the size of Microsoft would develop, in part, something that would backfire on them and have their name dragged through the mud??? Ok Microsoft have had their woes in the past but come on get real...It was the best on the go and I reckon EVERYBODY got their say on its implementation and had to pass a vote by EVERYBODY....Ferrari and Todt in particular wouldnt / wont be happy unless he gets his own way....but I suppose its always good to have your objections in the public domain as early as possible

I'd be WAY more worried that Microsoft was involved in making the ECU's. If my Windows & other MS software is anything to go by we might be back to a situation where only 6 cars finish GP's. Also, wonder if the drivers will be getting danger pay ... can you imagine a system freeze at 300km/h!

In all fairness JT did say that it was the best option available. Can anyone blame him for wishing that it was not produced by their main competition? I am sure all of you calling him a toad or a whiner (btw-very mature way to make your point) would be the same ones complaining if the ECU that Mclaren had to use was produced by Ferrari.
I fail to see what Bridestone or A1GP has to do with this issue. Why would Ferrari care if Mclaren chose to supply parts to another series? Mclaren have had a Michelin advantage at times, which is to be expected. That is different that having your main competition supply such a critical component.

And why the heck should Sam let it go after just a few months, when Ferrari haters still harp on about Ferrari and Schuey years after the events? How convenient. Double standards I say...

Tim being Sam. Other fans don't go posting the same crap every day. Find me the last topic someone mentioned hill and shuie,s crash on where you post the same thing on each topic so just get over it. Mark do you mean that mclaren will have a bigger advantage over the ecu than ferrari had with using bridgestone tyres last year. This years ecu has not been used by mclaren before but ferrari had more knowledge on last years bridgestones than bmw mclaren or renault.

well if ferrari had the technology or expertise to build 22 ECUS, which they clearly dont as they complaining about mclarens one already. perhaps jean todt should shutup
