Coulthard being lined up for BBC role?

Coulthard being lined up for BBC role?

David Coulthard could find himself dishing out his typically forthright remarks about grand prix racing from the confines of the commentary box next year.

bring louise goodman over aswell and u would never hear about the race with all the sweet talking goin on!

Although he would end up yattering on the box, does mean a seat at RBR could go to someone quick.

I think DC can be quite funny and quick-witted (there's a few vids on YouTube that show this) but I'm not a massive fan as he seems so bitter and preachy all the time. He could be better commentating, though, and I can think of far worse people.

Louise Goodman I'm not a massive fan of though.

If he is as forthcoming as he is when describing his incident with Massa then I am all for it! He'd liven things up!

Martin Brundle and Ben Edwards for commentary duties!

He's over opinionated and full of ******. The guy beside him wouldn't get a word in edge ways.

If you want things livening up, vote for someone like Eddie Irvine.

I'd like to see Martin Brundle, Mark Blundell, Louise Goodman and Ben Edwards in the team.

Most of all, I'm so pleased I wont have to listen to that cruddy chart flooping Moby song ever again!!! Long live The Chain

DC should go on for as long as he likes. Brundle was subjected to a similar whispering campaign when ITV took on the rights and ended up being edged out of Jordan. It's well known that Michael Schumacher appreciated Brundle's composure at Benetton in 1992 and wanted a similar environment for the boy Ralf's first season.

Coulthard would be good for BBC but I think he has better chances of getting some sort of advisory role in Red Bull. He is pretty well respected there even if he hasn't had the best track performance of late. I thought the commentary by Brundle and co was particularly sub-par on Sunday. All I was hearing were excuses on behalf of Hamilton and how "he should be in third place". Bull****. They even went as far as saying "Thank God!" after Lewis jumped Webber in the second pit stop. Sure Hamilton is good, but ITV don't have to let me know every 2 minutes.

Spot on Dave Hingston. I was so close to turning the race off because of the lewis dribble! Every second comment they made was about him. Fingers crossed the BBC brings this kind of biased crap to an end

Well, by changing from ITV to BBC I would be sad to lose Brundle. But as an Aussie, I am sick to death of hearing about Hamilton.

Two years ago Webber looked like he would keep his seat at Williams and Button was going to miss out. It was like Webber was the arch enemy for the next 18 months.

Having said that, anything that goes wrong with a Brit, and particularly Lewis, well it's an absolute world emergency especially according to James Allen.

Eg Webber deserved to be where he was, he himself got screwed over in the pits and at times had in fact been pulling gaps to Hamilton. Not holding him up as was repeatedly suggested.

Why are the Brits being criticised for being patriotic? If I watch a GP in Britain, I expect to hear more of the Brittish interest in the sport.

On the same respect, if I were in Italy, I'd expect to hear mostly about Ferrari.

I'm hoping that when it does go to the beeb, they can have options available with the red button that rival the Kangaroo TV units you can hire at the races.

If you're outside the UK watching the british broadcasts, don't complain about its coverage.

Actually if you are living in Britain, the F1 coverage is awesome by comparison regardless. I am a UK expat who has had to endure Chinese language broadcasts on CCTV for the last few years.

Let me give you an example of the rubbish I had to listen to on Sunday translated from Chinese on CCTV.

"Kubica, he has a huge forehead...it looks like he is going bald very early."

"Kimi, he looks so handsome in his Ferrari overalls"

Pits to car Radio...everytime translated "keep going faster".

ESPN's English global coverage is even worse than CCTV's.

Quite correct Andy,if the guy complaining is as I suspect from Australia I bet he would be overjoyed to hear that a Pom was going to be the new Aussie rules football commentator! Regarding the commentary on ITV,it seems to me a little unfair to complain about them stating the obvious at times.A large chunk of the viewers will be non motorsport experts and not familiar with all that is going on.Tha commentary has to be for us the fans as well as tha casual viewer.
