Felipe Massa has finally opened his 2008 account by repeating his 2007 Bahrain Grand Prix victory in Sakhir – but the big news of the weekend is how BMW have replaced McLaren-Mercedes as the Scuderia's closest challengers for glory this year, and how Lewis Hamilton's championship bid is threatening to come off the rails only three races into the campaign.
I am not a lewis fanatic, but what price Fernando lifting "OFF" for a second? I bet he was chuckling as he pulled away after! ;) ;)

Fernando shows himself to be a cheat. He did it in 2003 to Coulthard at the Nurburgring, and he was looking at Ferrari data last year. He threatened to take Lewis out before, now he has finally done it.
This spoilt brat shouldnt be allowed to get away with it.
Rubbish Why are not McClaren appealing? because your boy ran up the back of Alonso. I am sure RD would appeal if he felt he had grounds to do so, only if it knocked FA back 10 places in the next race, which I believe to be in Spain? Lewis, get out your "L" plates.

I AM NEITHER A ALONSO NOR A HAMILTON fan
but It was not alonso's fault, as infact he had not lifted the throttle, just the accelaration of that mclaren is so much better, hamilton messed it up,just like he messed his start.
If there had been any doubt the incident would have been investigated and alonso would have been penalised in this race itself. its wasnt done purposely by alonso... no one crazy would do some thing like that, because a impact at such a speed ... u never know who is gonna suffer,
If alonso had suffered more damage ...every one would point fingers at hamilton. it was a driving error on part of hamilon, bad day for him .

"Fernando shows himself to be a cheat" go back to your football. or the the fanboy goggles off when watching the races.
ChuChu, you have no right to call people fanboys. Ever since you joined this site you have done nothing but bitch about Hamilton and say Alonso was innocent last year.
Even when i prove Alonso had the data last year you leave the thread as you cant face the truth. No doubt you will be sat in the stands with a blacked up face cheering on your main man Fernando the Cheat.
Chris B, your post smacks of desperation, you sound like your man hamilton, full of excuses and a big ego.
I will wave my banner to you from the stand

St Lewis wasn't so saintly. He mucked up the start and almost caused a accident when he was passed by seven cars. A couple of corners later, Lewis was moving over, in his obviously faster racecar, to pass Alonso and drove into him. It's comparable to a mistake from a third tier driver from a back of the pack team.

Firstly...Well done Felipe Massa! Solid drive, a masterclass and well deserved after all the flak taken fom those armchair drivers.
Secondly...Alonso brake test??? 110% Lewis Hamilton's fault i think. He messed up the start in his own admission and had a racing accident with Alonso due to his relative inexperience racing in the midfield.
The guy has made his assessment of the weekend and it wasn't to plan. LH knows he was responsible and i am glad that he is pointing fingers only at himself.
I now am interested to see how LH responds to this dip in form. I believe like all good sportsmen, the response will be emphatic and the solid consistent drives will come back.
Perhaps your british drivers should go to Specsavers

Seems to be a few blinkered people here! It was obvious what Alonso was doing and he probably will be punished, or at least he should be. Just a shame Lewis didn't see it coming, guess he thought Alonso was a bit more professional.

To all the Hamilton fans Pat Simons show the telemetry after the race and it shows what everyone could see Hamilton just panics when is in midfield. No brake or lift off from Alonso so just blame LH inexperience. If anyone should get a ban is Hamilton for causing and avoidable incident

As i've already said after the malaysian gp: welcome to the midfield shamilton lol lol
Alonso might of got a point or 2 if his rear wing wasn't damaged, anyway nevermind I have to say well done Massa, I was wrong about you not being able to finish and winning a race this year but Raikkonen will still be the stronger over the course of the season just like last season.
Also good to see BMW coming on strong and kept the ferraris and kovalainen honest, interesting to see kovalainen hasn't got the raw pace to beat the bmw's! Mclaren will hope their next major aero update in Barcelona is worth about 4 tenths of a second or they'll be fighting with the BMW's for the podium for this year.

Agree with tealeaf.
Whats with all the bickering, it was stupid of Hamilton for him to go into the back of Alonso like that, looked like he panicked.
It was even more stupid of Hamilton to make such a **** start as he did, even if he was on pole he would of been outside of the top 10 with that start, what a joke, BMW are beating the Mclarens and Ron will be scratching that bald head of his, also Kimi is back to where he belongs, at the top of the championship.

chris b - i refer you to LH s words post race as for the rest of your post, it speaks for itself. little good you ve done for yourself there
and you can read lewis s words too, PEDRO SCORCHIO!
hamilton needs to keep cool when things go wrong. he had no need to pass alonso in the first lap, rather settle down for a minute after the bad start. he was actually lucky the car behind him didnt run him over at the start (think it was HK)
Very happy for a Ferrari 1-2. Forza Ferrari. I am not a LH fan nor do i hate him. But now is where LH will have to prove himself if he is as good as the British 'pundits' reckon he is. Last year in brazil he was to impatient to overtake Alonso and screwed up, same thing today. He just needs to be patient like KR and Schumi use to be. U cannot win a race on the first lap but u can loose it, which happened to him today. Now i wanna see wats he got.

Well, he quite nicely demonstrated why some people don't like LH and find him arrogant. Waving his hand on at least 2 occasions because drivers would not move over and let him pass while fighting for position with him. Sure, he should be faster but that's the game. Driving to them is one thing, passing is another. They don't need to move over just because he's in a McL.
McL also demonstrated a brain fart when they changed to a single pitstop strategy. He could only lap 2s per lap faster than the people in front of him, which would clearly not get him anywhere. A 2-stop strategy should have given him a 4s a lap faster pace to have a fighting chance for a few points.

Chris B - take a look at this quote from Autosport "Autosport.com has seen the telemetry data of Alonso's exit from the first corner, and it shows that the Spaniard was flat on the throttle from the exit, did not touch the brake and gained speed in a totally predictable manner."
Maybe in the future you should wait for the data before you make such bold statements. Your "blacked face" attack on Chu is pathetic. Your driver had a bad day, deal with it.
