Alonso: Never any problem with Lewis.

Alonso: Never any problem with Lewis.

Fernando Alonso has insisted he never had any issues with Lewis Hamilton whilst the pair were team-mates at McLaren-Mercedes last year, stressing that it was the team that created the problems that were so avidly seized upon by the media over the course of the 2007 Formula 1 campaign.

FA's on a charm offensive - to find a new home for 09. "No problem with Lewis" Yeah! and that's a Super Aguri in the lead.......!

No antagonism !! Is that horse-manure I can smell? I think Fernando might be trying to repaint history a little in order to persuade Ferrari that he will get along just fine with Kimi.

Give it a break will you! He's trying to difuse the tension between the 2 rivals and it's only healthy for the sport, we don't need them 2 to run into each other every race, and whats wrong with Alonso wanting a good car to drive? Although maybe Ferrari is not suitable next year, BMW would be wise to sign up Alonso if they can get a winning car.

If your willing to dish it out, you gotta be able to take it when it's aimed right back at you.

Tealeaf i agree that it is good to defuse the tension but i don't think BMW will be interested in him as their drivers are both top calibre. I think his only chance at having a top drive will be with Red Bull if Newey pulls a blinder of a car.

Ralf, It depends on what FA is looking for. Whether he still holds out for a Ferrari drive and so wanting a short contract, so he can leave when he gets the nod, like last year. I think most teams want some sort of stability in their driver lineup.

Don't know what the situation is like at RBR with regards to who is number one and number two, but would Webber, if he's still there, be willing to be a number two and knuckle under to FA? Not sure he would.

Calvin i think you might be right but how many drivers in the top teams would want to be number 2 to alonso.

Damage control is in the works. FA is trying to make it appear that team dynamics are not an issue, something that would put a Ferrari deal in jeopardy. I think he should have let that dog lie; now people will be looking at the incident all over again and FA was given the clear signal to go and that's why he got nailed, not by the team, but by the sporting directors. Blaming the team at this point seems inane. Does Ferrari really want a driver who's still going on about an incident in the last season? I'm betting Ferrari will take him if he comes cheap, titles aside. They have a title winner and good team dynamic already and don't need the headaches, real or percieved he brings.

We have all once agian fallen in to last year's McLaren/Fernando/Lewis debacle.
That was last year, and its gone.
Let's move on chaps.
Next Sunday is the start of the European races, and after that we shall have a good idea where everyone stands in the pecking order.

After watching Liverpool lose last night against Chelsea in the last few seconds of the game, and to add insult to injury, due to an own goal, then in sport anything could happen.

Forget last year, let's see what shall happen next Sunday and let's all take it up from there.

Let's hope that Manchester United wins this evening against Barcellona, and that Henry and Ronaldhino will be easy with us. Some hope!!!!!!

RENO SP the article is about last year's McLaren/Fernando/Lewis debacle as you put it so that's why we are posting this forum about it. I don't know what rubbish your posting. FA is correct! regardless of driver conflicts or personality clashes whatever the team managers and RD in particular should have the managment skills to control their teams strategies and drivers wich MaClaren seemed to lack in '07. Admitedly it's not every season you have a spy scandal directed at you wich obviously affected MaClarens managment operations so more than anything it was bad timing that FA joined MaClaren in '07 with all that going on in the background. That was all out of FA's control.

F1Tos, I cannot agree with you more. All you said is correct, but its past tense.
As I said let's move on, it's a boring subject.
I don't think that there is anyone on this forum who have written about this subject more than me in this forum before the racing started, but we are in a new season now, and that debacle has become history.

By the way, Liverpool drew 1-1 against Chelsea yesterday, they did not lose.
Don't any of you like football?
Or is it that we only like to kick certain F1 drivers around?

Will Fernando stay at Renault next year? Will he go to Ferrari?
Will Toyota, BMW-Sauber or RBR snap him up if he's available?
WHO CARES?
Let's see what's gonna happen now first.

I think what Alonso is simply trying to do, is to calm the Spanish crowd before the GP. We don't want people to throw wine bottles at Mr. Hamilton, do we ?
Good thinking Alonso !

Calm down F1Tos, don't get over excited you might blow a gasket.
What do you want me to repeat here for the hundred time?
- That all the problems at McLaren last year originated from the fact that Ron Dennis mismanaged a dream situation and ended winning absolutely nothing for the 7th year in a row?
- That if McLaren did not f.uck up during qualifying in Hungary last year causing Alonso to be demoted five places and consequently losing first place to Lewis, he would have won the race and consequently the WDC in the end?
- That Fernando is a much much better and experienced driver than Lewis, and that he could have given McLaren the WDC and CC both last year and again this year?
Yes....
