Rubens: I never expected to break the record.

Rubens: I never expected to break the record.

After much disagreement over the date, Rubens Barrichello will officially overtake Riccardo Patrese's long-held record for number of grand prix starts when the lights go out in Istanbul next month – making him the most experienced driver in Formula 1 history.

So typical of F1 Bull S**t to confuse everything with orbscure rules and facts for something as simple as number of GP starts. If he turned up to race then that's a start in my books regardless of circumstances. Congradulations and Good on you Rubens your a true star and I hope it rains in Spain so you might have a chance to score points or even a podium on this momentous occassion.

 4 people disagree.

Everyone breaks records Rubens, even the driver that comes in last every race.

lol, actually i think it should be counting the number of successful qualifications for a race, this would remove the occasion of when a racer suddenly falls too ill on the saturday night to race despite having qualified. and removes those who may have failed to qualify for a race in the old systems. so i actually disagree with F1Tos, lol. sorry.

In my opinion, a Grand Prix starts from the first practice session. When you start dabbling with deciding what is a race start and what isnt, that's where you get into pickles like this!

His accident at Imola in '94 was horrific, and it's a testimony to the guy that he continued to race. A lesser man would have counted his blessings and walked away

Good on you Rubens!!

Who cares he is such an unlucky driver, whats the point of all that experience, what has he got to show, and please do not blame Michael for rubens misfortune, this is the guy who has never won his home race, he is like the jerk Jacques V. Rubens still cant get it right, Jenson has a better chance of proving himself for Honda. It is time DC and Rubens found something else to do.
