'Talks ongoing' to save Super Aguri.

The Super Aguri F1 team has confirmed that talks are ongoing to try and secure its future with less than 24 hours until on-track action begins at the Spanish Grand Prix.

Its sad, but i think it would be for the best if Super Aguri dont race this weekend - if money is so limited, they havent done any testing at Barcelona so they will just be road blocks slower by 6 tenths of a second more than usual. Other teams will have their cars set up to run perfectly.

I believe that they will be fined by the FIA if they do not race. They at least need to start the race to avoid any fines. It would also be a good oportunity to wine and dine some of the potential investors at an actual GP.

This is the stuff that F1 is made of - independents clawing tooth and nail to get a chance to pursue their dreams.

Just for sheer determination and passion, I am already finding myself a fan.

It will be difficult for non-engine manufacturer teams to secure any investors at this point as credits are tight in the international markets & then there is Max image ..... which even Porsche wouldn't want to touch F1 with a long pole.

Hopefully Bernie will give some of his loose change and ensure Super Aguri race this weekend. With the Prodrive entry scrapped for this year we don't need another team diasappearing. Long term, I would like to think someone will take up the offer to buy the team, ART Grand Prix, an excellent opportunity for them and their like.
