Raikkonen win extends championship lead.

Sort Comments:

Raikkonen win extends championship lead.

Kimi Raikkonen may have strengthened his world championship credentials by triumphing in the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona, but the real joy of the race was that of countryman Heikki Kovalainen, who emerged heavily shaken but thankfully otherwise seemingly unscathed from a terrifyingly high-speed accident when his McLaren-Mercedes broke just after he had taken the lead of the race.

Well done to KR and the Ferrari team... class of the field. In fact the whole Ferrari team just exudes class. Excellent starting manoeuvre and 3rd place by LH, my driver of the race for making up the places off the grid. And thank God HK was unscathed after what looked a horrific high speed accident. I hope people have the humility and good grace to give LH the credit he deserves after most people thought the McLaren would be well off the race pace. I live in hope.

Ditto that - thought it was a good quality race from those that finished in the points. A little dull, but the top 4 were relitively even on pace which is encouraging to see. Glad (hope) HK is OK - that really looked like a scary shunt. Webber and Button drove especially well I think.

My god causeIcan, how can you say such a thing. To wish an accident like that on anyone, whether you like them or not, is just sick. Think that has to be a new and very depressing low for these forums.

causeican you are a pr-ick. You don't follow the sport so go and play somewhere else. I bet you are Spanish or racist. You are a jealous Pratt. And to all you Mclaren and BMW haters just remember that they were not far off the pace full + Renault showed signs of recovery.

I agree with you damon and have suggested this to the crash.net admin team before.

It seems some people on here are hell bent on hamilton bashing regardless of how he performs.

CauseIcan, wishing an accident like that on anyone just makes you one sick mutha! How would you like it if someone wished that on you or your family? Go away, grow up and get a life you sad little prick!

@ The Damon Hill. Its banned not ban, can you not write?

As for Ralf, will what sort of knob are you? Have you not heard of freedom of speech?
Only stating my opinion, isn't that what this forum is for? Or is it for twa.ts like you who can not stand somebody beating your team or driver?

By the way, well done Renault, I was really looking forward to Fernando "whipping" Hamichoke.

I was rightly castigated on another thread for generalising about the Spanish and their attitudes to the racism issues that appear to be prevalent in some areas of Spain, and I say this from personal experience by the way, so I would say Ralf that causeIcan possibly being racist has nothing to do with his nationality. I just think it sad that in 2008 someones race and not their conduct and character is basis for such hatred. I enjoy an intelligent debate with anyone and readily admit and apologise when I overstep the mark but causIcan comments really do sadden me.

There's freedom of speech and then there's wishing ill of someone who has done nothing to you personally to deserve such a thing. I don't particularly like Alonso but I would NEVER want him to crash like that. A comment like that doesn't make you look like a sports fan, just moronic.

Do you really think Alonso would think along the same lines and want a rival hurt? Some fan you are... Sadly enough, I was half expecting someone to say something like 'wished it was Hamilton', which is a sad reflection on the annoying minority who seem to peruse these forums.

I couldn't agree more with metalsteve more people come on to moan about Hamilton and Alonso than they talk about the racing.

Well Boo, we could all be like you and just act like sheep, perhaps that was the way you were nutured at home, school and at work, (assuming that you are old enough)

Perhaps the UK nanny state has gone to far in making the majority of people into a bunch of softies, if you don't like my comments, don't reply to them, but it makes far more interesting reading that the the usual "Blundell type" I'm in love with Hamilton comments, you you possibly like hearing before you go to bed.

So you want to see people get hurt???

I don't care if you wished it was Hamilton, Alonso, Raikkonen or the Queen, to wish injury of someone - anyone - is just really sad. The fact that some people's (who claim to be fans) minds go there when something like this happens is just unfortunate. Full stop.

yeah and some people can now save their breath about a "loud mouthed raw rookie" otherwise they're making themselves look stupid.

about the race, it was quite uninspiring because due to the layout of the circuit there aren't many possibilities to overtake.

Might I offer the suggestion that the guy has his comments removed by crash?I suspect that he thought all the usual suspects with their anti-Hamilton comments would rallt around him and he would then presumably feel very content and smug.To then try and justify what he posted in the name of free speech beggars belief! I would rather we did not have to put up with his vile drivel!!Come on crash, what are you going to do????

Hi robert, I'm here. Could not post before due to a family lunch, but I did watch the race. Not really much to comment except that it was a good race and am sorry first for Heiki, who I hope will get better soon, and second for Alonso who sufferred from a blown engine. The drivers were not to blame for these mishaps. Heiki suffered a broken suspension and malfunction of the steering, and FA's engine blew. So what do you want me to say? 5th/6th were the realistic target for FA.

Ralf registered, with a name like "causeIcan" that idiot can hardly be Spanish, so you owe all Spanish posters here an apology. Anyone wishing any F1 driver to be injured in an accident like that deserves....
