Kimi: One bad race and it's all gone...

Kimi: One bad race and it's all gone...

Finn refuses to get carried away with healthier championship lead.

It's funny how some British newspapers commented that Kimi wasn't 'jinxed' by Michael Schumacher's presence this time, as if the guy's presence has any bearing on the race result. It's a shame that, from the pictures, Schumi didn't at least stick around for the team photo. That would have been a nice gesture of support, even though he certainly does more than enough for them as it is.

A very realistic apprasal of the situation from Kimmi I think. Too many poeple are looking at the first couple of results and thinking the course of the season is set. But if you look back in history this isn't always the case and as Kimmi says it only need poor reliability, human error or another team to make a major performance step and it's all in the balance again.

Ferret, I am totally in your corner. Mika or Kimi in the zone are just sublime. An "awsome" display of precision, commitment, skill and bravery that is un-matched by any of the current grid.

Kimi might be in the best car this year or so far at least (last year the Ferrari's and the Mclaren's where very much equal), but before that he has basically never had the best package, so I guess it is his turn and he is making the most of it.

Notice how cleverly Kimi always downplays his achievements and team's progress. Ross Brawn has recently stated that one of the strengths of the Ferrari team is that they never think among themselves that they are winning. They work on the mentality that they are always behind and that there is always room for improvement, so they never slack off or get ahead of themselves or underestimate the opposition they believe in working until the very last.

Kimi IS that good. Unless you can analize the way a driver uses his skills and his machinery, you will never know just how good he is. The Ferarri is becoming more user friendly for Kimi and he will get better and better this season. Watch!

Hi all,

Did any of you see the ITv/F1 coverage ? The wxxxers edited off Kimi and Massa's post race press conf while the so called experts were at it talking about 3rd position LH.
These are the same guys who started the rumor about Alonso trying to break off Lewis when it was clearly LH who was driving like novice that he is in the bahrain race.

Cheers.

Australia - the Ferrari retired so it doesn't matter if was he was in 1st position he would have retired in any way. But luckily he scored 1 point.
Malaysia - Kimi won.
Bahrain - Kimi was second, with a middle ear infection (which effects your balance). But still 2 points is 2 points, so 2 points lost.
Barcelona - Kimi won.
So out of the total races that Kimi could have collect points at he has scored 29/30. If he becomes any more dominate he will win every race and that wouldn't be to good for the racing, now would it?

James Hunt, don't waste your breath. There are people on this board who have their head so firmly up FA's a.$$ for so long that they don't remember what daylight looks like.
Kimi is widely regarded by pretty much everybody in the F1 circus as one of the top two or three drivers in F1, if not the best.
He's been criticized in the past for his show-up-and-drive attitude, but he's addressed that in the last couple of years - the guy now tests as much as anyone.
He and FA are the two most complete driver packages on the circuit today, but FA is a high-maintenance primadonna who brings baggage to the table that Ferrari doesn't need as long as they've got Kimi.

Great first point Ghost... never mind about forgetting what daylight looks like I think their objectivity has wilted in the dark too!

FA, KR, LH, RK in my opinion are the top four drivers in the world of F1. There's fractions between them but if I had to call one the best I would go for Kimmi at the moment.

I left Massa out because I don't understand why a top F1 driver has to speak to his mentor (Schumi) at least twice a day as he admitted to the press last weekend! If he needs this level of moral support and guidance there must be something wrong in his head? Am I being too harsh?
