George do you lie in wait ready to pounce whenever Hamilton makes a comment and crash report it? If you had your way no driver should speak to the press and then we the fans would having nothing to comment on!!Or is it more likely that you are happy to read everybody else but him? He is a big star, people want to hear about him,get over it.You do not have to read what he says!!!

Shamilton loves to state the obvious! As george says, he should just give up talking and race!
Strange that Massa has just said exactly the same about how crucial qualifying is this season.Do you Hammie haters disagree with him and think he should shut up and just drive?? Hypocrites!!!!!

dave, you are a real lulu lover. when massa speaks, he does so in a sane and sensible manner. when lulu makes a statement, it comes over as more arrogant, when viewed with his other comments. why not wait until Q3.
No attack on you rich ard or do you go by ****? Who determines how the drivers speak to the media? Lewis is young and full of energy. Once he is in the league for a few more years you will hear the same dull drivel that the rest spew. You must enjoy his outburst as they give you something to talk about.

Dave - you are on to something about why both Massa and Hamilton feel qualifying is so important. These two guys have so far only won from the front. Lewis even says that there are clear chances to overtake in Turkey. He must know he can only win from the front which is why it is "vital" that he qualify well.
From some of the implications you get on these forums, it's as if people presume Lewis is ringing the reporters up just to have a chat.
If they stick a microphone in his face he has to talk. Blame the reporters for not pestering the other drivers, not Lewis.

Mark, if you dont think hamilton can race, just watch his gp2 drive at istanbul 2 years ago.

Everyone goes on about how Hamilton can't race because he only wins from pole is fair enough. However, winning by messing up your qualifying lap and finishing second/third/fourth and staying out three laps longer than everyone else hardly makes you a "racer".
It's a matter of time before Lewis wins from outside pole position.
Oh... and everyone comments on qualifying, etc. but crash.net only seems to pick up on Lewis. For those of you immature enough to complain, this is crash.net's fault, not Lewis Hamilton.

How can anyone comment on a headline without knowing the full story? Of course Hamilton was stating the obvious, but what was he asked?
Interviewer: "Do you think it will be vital to qualify well in Turkey?"
Hamilton: "Of course it will"
Headline: HAMILTON SAYS IT WILL BE CRUCIAL TO QUALIFY WELL"
Whats he meant to do? ignore the question and then have the Hammie haters complaining because he's rude and arrogant?

Can he race?
Would he be in a Mclaren if he couldn't?
Of course he can. Unfortunately the way that F1 is set up these days means that it is almost impossible for ANY car to overtake another unless it's a lot quicker. Most of the passing is done during pit stops. In my opinion (and I'm sure others will disagree) thats not racing.

So what you're saying DaveH is that everyone should qualify with the least amount of fuel and possibly lightest car then a full tank for the race for just the amount of laps for just a tank full and let 'er rip? no pit stops no tire change no nothing just raw racing... above all no safety car to slow things down, just weave around the stalled or crashed cars that will be very exciting.
George, Am I really advocating going back to the good old days when F1 WAS exciting? You know,I think I might be. Safety car is a good idea although I think it's used too much at times.
