lewis, you have not just had ONE bad race, how many GOOD races in the last six, for example. mandela is 90 and nobody would expect him to be mistake free at that age, so i dont see where you are getting your analogy from. by your reasoning, you will still be winning races when you are 90. i wont be around then unfortunately, but the result would be interesting to see. at least you are right when you say "i am not superman"

Come on Mark and Richard.. It was not that tough of a read. So you are aware of what he meant he was saying you make mistakes no matter who you are or how long you have been around. And how is it that the people who slam him the most are the ones who know the most about him. **** ard glad you keep up with his stats so closely. The year is not over and I sure you will be eating more crow before its over. You are also aware that Ferrari has the edge over everyone this year and it will be difficult for anyone on the grid to compete with them.

Rich, interesting that you mention his age... I think that's one big reason to EXPECT mistakes from LH. He's just a kid! He was very consistent in the first part of last season, but since then his inexperience has started to show. He will probably get even better as he gains more experience.
Have to say though, McL really should have expected this from him but I think they were blinded by his strong start to the 07 season. Noone can expect a driver his age to be faultless - how could he be? He is fast, he is skilled, but he is clearly not a team leader.

You are correct robert it was not a tough read. You have to admit it was a bit of a strange anology. I hope that he was not implying that he is like Mandela. If he was then he really does need to be brought back down to earth. This seasons reality check is probably the best thing for his development as a potential contender.
Would love to hear some of the comments on this forum if Lewis said he WAS superman!
I think he's playing himself down too much by claiming he isn't superman!

robert, IF lulu wins the championship, i will of course give him credit for it. i am NOT a lulu hater, just think that he is too big for his boots! THE HAMILTRON, re his age, lulu should be in his prime, yes his apparent immaturity results in mistakes. he used the weird analogy of nelson mandela, who at 90 is nearing his dottage and could not be expected to be "in his prime". lulu should be LESS gaffe prone
"Faster than a speeding go-cart. More powerful than a locomouth. Able to leap FA in a single bound. Look! There in the SandTrap! It's a Crane. It's a SafetyCar. It's...
(okay then do your worst I hang my head in shame).
rich ard.. appreciate the reply. I really believe that in life any personality that becomes a media darling is bound to get jumped on. We all realize he is not the best driver on the grid at the moment. His youth and the media have created a monster for all of us to attack. I do like the fact that he seems accessable for comment and wish we could get more quotes worthy of us talking some smack but the others seem content on giving F1 answers. My hopes are for BMW and McL to up the ante and gives us some topics to truly discuss. And yes I do wish the Regie would come forward as well.

Wonder if FIA would do a feasibility study on Formula 1 races in South Africa, Nelson Mandela could have the honors of christening the track.
You don't really race until you're senile, so the Mandela thing wasn't really a relevant comparison at all. Don't know what he was thinking. Anyway, my point was simply that he is just too young and inexperienced to be put in the position as team leader and Dennis, Whitmarsh & co should have realised that. Thus I disagree that he is in his prime - he needs more experience first!

Can I remind everyone there is NO team leader at McL. Never has been probably never will be while RD is in charge.
Zoro... thanks for your last post, your an immature idiot, why do you bother?
I'm getting tired of reading these LH non-stories. It's not his fault that the newspapers report everything he says even if it's completely non newsworthy. Like I have said in previous posts, the tabloids only build up your profile so they can destroy you in a blaze of publicity later.
Mark my words... soon LH won't be able to get his jacket on because of all the press knives in his back!

I like watching Lewis race. There is always the un-expected happening that goes against the grain of predictability in the sport. It's what the melon heads at the FIA have been hoping to stumble across for year upon year since the 90's. Same with Alonso, he's exciting to watch.
I'm willing to bet that the majority of people slagging Lewis are Ferrari fans. Also, I bet those same people believe Schumacher won all those titles through sheer skill.

Lex are we to believe that Senna was not the team leader when Michael Andretti was his team mate? Do you really think that Mika was not the leader when DC was there? I would bet that these two would say otherwise.
