Hamilton: I still believe we're the best.

Hamilton: I still believe we're the best.

Lewis Hamilton has said McLaren-Mercedes' performance in the Turkish Grand Prix at the weekend has only served to strengthen his conviction that the team is the strongest in the Formula 1 paddock – as he made an unfancied strategy work to come away with second place.

oh, here we go again. lulu says that BOTH cars were on three stoppers, yet i understood that ONLY lulu was on a three stopper, kovi was forced in early due to the puncture and would have been normally on a TWO stopper. then lulu says bridgestone MADE him do a three stopper. i would have thought that the TEAM made him three stop, after all, bridgestone were quite happy for everyone else to two stop. maybe if lulu had a driving style kinder to tyres, he could find it easier to win.

Bridgestone advised lewis to three stop, they have said that today.
Lewis has an agressive style of driving and is an exciting driver who brakes late and takes risks.
He is a great driver and much like Senna used to be!!
Come on Lewis

Richard shut up for gods sake. Mclaren did put both cars on a 3 stopper but only after Kovi's puncture, Hamilton said that Kovi had more fuel on board meaning a 2 stopper. Maybe if he wasn't so hard on tyres he wouldn't be as fast as he is. Also you comment on another post that Kimi couldn't past Hamilton because he had a broken aero part, not due to the fact that the reason Hamilton got past massa was due to him having less fuel and being 7ths faster than Massa. If you think the winglet that was missing off Kimis car was worth 7ths you are an Idiot.

"He had a specific problem last year, most noticeably, but several other drivers we noticed had internal tyre problems. Based on that, we changed the construction and strengthened it over the winter period and then brought those tyres to all the races this year.

"In actual fact, nobody else has had a repetition of any of those problems this year, with the exception of Lewis," she added.

"He is the one driver who perhaps with his style of driving has put higher forces onto his front right tyre."

okay, i am an idiot! but read the article! lewis said bridgestone MADE them three stop. not true! they advised! yes kovi was meant to be on a two stopper, just as i said! yes, the front wing on kimis car was damaged. it is normally difficult to pass a car but this defect would have increased the difficulty! yes i also said that lulupassed massa but that massa was not too worried, knowing that lulu had to make a third stop. obviously a lighter car will be faster. yes, i also gave him credit on another thread for a good race. i have no particular favourite. the trouble with lulu is that he has a poor PR image and would be advised to think before he stuffs his foot in his mouth.

Im with u Rich. Lewis would do best to talk less & work on his race craft more.

Admitting that he uses his tyres more than other drivers & is 'made' to use an extra set is hardly an accolade.
Mansell was also blindingly fast but never won half the races he promised to, mainly because he was so hard on his equipment that he kept breaking it before the chequered flag.
Schumacher had the 1 lap speed of Senna, the race speed of Prost, engineering understanding & a work ethic not seen from current drivers, so he won titles. Being 'fast' alone will just win u some races.

Bridgestone "made" them do 3 stops or "advised" them to make 3 stops is just semantics. He may have used the wrong word, none of us have perfect english after all. The facts are that taking their advice into account they decided to 3 stop. Don't be so precious richard.

If LH really thinks that McL are the best then he's in dreamland. Ferrari are the best on the grid and I think 99% of people in the sport would agree. McL may have closed the gap a little but to claim that they may have won the race isn't being realistic. Massa had it in the bag all weekend barring any mechanical failures.

I think he's trying to keep the team motivated with his comments and fair play to him for that.

Oh come on now everyone, for someone to do a 3-stop and still come out second ahead of the current world champion and one of the two fastest cars on the track is damn good. well done LH.

It is important for him to show that he still has the belief in the team around him for him and the team to remain competitive both in the driver's and manufacturer's championships for this season. However due Kovalainen's lack of success this season so far it will be difficult if not impossible for McLaren to catch Ferrari in the manfacturer's championship this season. Bridgestone were rightly concerned about potential tyre problems that had at last season's Turkish Grand Prix from occuring again at the Grand Prix. He took a considerable gamble at the Grand Prix and made it work to get 2nd place to finish ahead of Raikkonen. So give him some credit for that please.

Dice.

What work ethics does Schumacher have?

What about that accident with Damon Hill?

And what he tried to do with Jacques Villeneuve?

Schumacher is as fast as he is unethical.

Well, Lewis & McLaren are doing better than Alonso & Renault. Is there a problem?

Pedro ... the language is called English. If you want to post in it, at least learn it.

Work ethic = prepared to put in the long hours, make sacrifices, improve your skills, etc. I've been at the track late in the evenings when Schumacher was the only driver still there working with his engineers to improve his car for the next days race.

Perhaps LH doesn't see that there is a scarlet team that is STILL better than McLaren, BMW is even catching McLaren... how come he threw a comment like that? better like Kimi or Massa or Alonso, just be quiet and do the hard work to your team, instead of only copying the 2007 setup to your car... :(
