The general secretary of the Czech Automobile Association Radovan Novak has apologised to the McLaren team after suggesting that the Mercedes-powered outfit may have helped to expose the sex scandal that has left Max Mosley fighting to retain his position as president of the FIA.
Looks like one of MM's buddies tried to spread the muck around and got called on it by McLaren and had to back down. No doubts how he will be voting on June 3rd.
I didn't see any news or comment on the appointment by the FIA of a good barrister friend of Max to investigate the News of the World story. I think its jolly nice of the FIA to spend serious money trying to fight Max personal legal battles for him. and provide a nice bi bucket of whitewash ready for the Council meeting on the 3rd June.
It just gets worse, nes pas?

Of course there are no doubts Calvin it says he is a supporter of Mosley right in the article.
What I find interesting is that this statement was issued by Mclaren not Mr. Novak. What changed so that he now does not believe Mc or RD were involved? While I don't think he should have shared his opinion on this publicly, I think most people familar with the spy saga have at least pondered the possiblity that these two events are somehow connected. Even if there was some involvement from Mc or RD Max was free to participate or not. Now that Max has brought the sport into disrepute he needs to go.
Mark, I suppose we'll only find McLaren's or Ron's statement here for very practical reasons. The team & its principal are British, so it stands to reason to hear from that side. I suppose we'll have to read the Czech media for Mr. Novak's side.

Dennis should have insisted on a letter of apology/retraction and published it! A simple statement to the effect of RD's (although I believe him) is still open to denial by Novak, better to have it in writing and placed in the public domain.
As Calvin points out, it's good to see Mosley's mates crawl back into the woodwork, will Todt et al follow?
All that's required ahead of June 3rd, is for Prince Albert to inform Ecclestone that Mosley won't be welcome at Monaco, job done!
I doubt Dennis would say this without an apology letter from Novak so don't expect Novak to deny this. Equally, Novak would not have mentioned McLaren unless Mosley was privately doing so. Mosley won't finger McLaren publicly as he knows that's defamation but this shows how much he hates McLaren and Dennis which is why he conducted an OTT witch-hut against them last year. Remember, McLaren were banned from the Constructors and fined Euro 100m without any evidence of documents circulating in McLaren (the only evidence was some titbits passed by Coughlan to de la Rosa and Alonso). Renault F1 weren't penalised despite having McLaren documents in their organisation. So inconsistent and corrupt!!

just to keep sennaforever happy---------. nice to know he looks forward to my comments! i remember the good old days when bruce was in charge. no point on commenting on mercedes-mclaren as they can stew in their own fat. if they did nothing wrong, they deserve an apology

Unless I am mistaken, sennaforever does not actually mention Hamilton in his comment! Richard you really need to see the doctor as you are clearly suffering the first signs of paranoia! All of your anti-Lewis jibes and insults are starting to affect you!!!

mark, i dont agree with dave's blinkered views but i do accept that i did mention lulu in my post, but then edited it out as i was incorrect. thanks for standing up for me, but i apologise for a slight error on my part. i had included lulus name as i had misread the article
Really, does anything MM did away from F1 have anything to do with what he does with his job? I'm not a MM fan and I don't condone what he did, but let he that is without sin cast the first stone. Nobody could seriously imagine that he's the only one in the whole F1 family that likes the occasional whip across the backside?

Richard, not blinkered but truthful and accurate! In all the many comments I have made on this forum, not once have I been critical or snide about a driver, only about some of the nasty cheap comments made on here,as well as the frequent factual inaccuracies and bigotry. If people do not like me attacking their comments, they should attempt a more balanced, thoughtful approach. This forum has at times resembled a school playground debate and I have noticed a number of decent users appear to have been driven away, what a pity!!!
I believe that Chu is saying there are emotional reasons why poeple support their particual driver or team. If it was purely based on logic then wouldn't we all agree all the time? Of course Dave believes that what he posts is truthful and accurate. I think that we all feel that what we post is truthful and accurate. The problem if it is one, is that what we post is sometimes based on our feelings whether it be nationaltiy or just that we may like silver cars better than red cars.
