A married man in a prominent position who indulges in perverted fantasies with 5 prostitutes, whose job involves exploiting men for money, is asking for trouble, either in the form of blackmail or the sale of the story to the press. Although Mosley seeks refuge in privacy laws by hiring expensive lawyers, this has shown that he is reckless, arrogant and has poor judgment in placing himself at risk of exactly what has happened and then refusing to see that it is bad for the image of F1 to have as FIA President a person who is now known to enjoy simulating beating women camp prisoners, whether as a Nazi or German guard. Mosley only has himself to blame for his lousy judgment and should go NOW!

"embarrassed and humiliated"- couldn't agree more. This why as the head of all International Motorsport it is time to resign!

Its taken a long time for Max Mosely to become humiliated and embarrassed! Conveniently close to the vote don't you think? Berger would be a good replacement even though he has ties to Ferrari, he is a man of honour and I don't think the ties would influence him.

Cubik, on the face of it, anyone other that JT would seem like a good idea. As for Berger, I guess it would depend on whether there is a STR next season. I'm not sure that I'd like to see an existing team owner in the role of FIA chief. What's wrong with someone like Prost?
Shouldn't that read - "Motorsport worldwide left embarassed and humilated"....?

Since the pre-requisite for Max or Bernie's job is to screw up a privately run team and therefore need a job - Berger would fit right in. Unfortunately, you would still be one clown short of a circus - Berger would have to bring Franz.

Fact: every name mentioned out there in the grapevine as successor to MM is or was related to F1 (as Mosley himself was, btw), even though that is only a (relatively) small intervention area of the FIA. Says something about its importance. Todt, as a matter of fact, became prominent as head of the sports department at Peugeot (WRC and F1 engines - at least they sold them as F1 engines. Opinions differ). Anyway, I'm guessing that Ecclestone would love to see Todt up there. But, knowing Todt a little, he'd also have his share of surprises.

Maybe what's needed now is someone outside of the sport, someone with no links, business or otherwise with any of the teams, but who is a good administrator, has solid people skills, business acumen, and above all is a professional individual who can command the respect of all involved. I'm not going to offer suggestions as to who might fit the bill, but Mosley continuing will just bring the sport as a whole into further disrepute.

if you listen really really intently you can just make out the sound of a lone violin playing just for Max!!!!!
David, dont quote me on this but i THINK that Todt got known for work with Toyota Team Europe, and was in charge around the time of the big cheating controversy in (i think) 1995.

The FIA is supposed to the controlling organisation for all form of 'car' racing as well as other areas like general road safety, etc. For the last few years they've been far to 'hands-on' involved in micro-managing F1 related matters at the expense of other areas. While they've been chasing more manufacturers in F1, manufacturers supplying F3 engines (for example) have left, as have WRC manufacturers. Touring Cars have been revived by 3rd parties, & the previously simple 'pyramid' feeder system isnt quite as strong.
Whoever takes over needs to take a step back from this predominantly F1 focus Max has made it, & look at the bigger motorsport picture, so I would vote NO to F1 people.

You gotta be kiddin' Max has got no shame. If what he's saying is true, he'd have packed his bags & leave with some dignity. As we can all see, that's not the case. He's even filed a libel writ in France. Libel??? For a lawyer, he's thick around the skull. Max is a disgrace to the world of motorsports.......and all the teams, manufacturers, sponsors & fans say.........AMEN!!!

Sorry to correct you Adrian, but in 1995 Todt was Ferrari's team boss and had been from 1993! He was PEUGEOT's rally boss, not Toyota's. The guy you're thinking of was the guy Toyota had as team boss when they came into F1 (was his name Ove Anderson??)
Adrian Check out Todt's biography at Wikipedia. And now my turn: what cheating controversy? I know I could look it up, but, right now, I'm much too lazy... Anyway, still regarding Todt: let's not forget Nicolas and his ties to FI (Massa'a manager - yes, even when Massa moved from Sauber to - tadaaa! - dad's Scuderia) and GP2 (ART co-owner). Anyway, I don't think it would be bad for Motorsport in general, if the next FIA president would be affiliated with the sport itself, and not with specific teams or managements inside any of the different disciplines (i.e. someone with a resumé like Balestre had).
