BBC wants Brundle, DC for F1 coverage.

The BBC is preparing to try and secure Martin Brundle's services to lead its F1 coverage once the sport returns to the corporation next year.

MB and DC makes alot of sense. Both top drivers, with excellent presentation
skills.
Just add VBH, and the Beeb will have a top-team.

Bring it on...

This is fantastic news, just a shame he won't be behind the mic during the races.

JAI - Is VBH Vicky Butler - Henderson? If so you cannot be serious!!!! She squeals like a stuck pig when she gets in anything with more than 50 BHP. God help us if there was an exiting race.

Don't care who they take on board as long as James flippin Allen is not filling our ears with his biased views and opinions.
Ben Edwards???

Typing "F1 1973" into YouTube will give you some fantastic commentary from the late Raymond Baxter. I don't think there are many old style BBC voices left: perhaps David Dimbleby or Boris Johnson might be persuaded?!

Would be a shame to loose Brundles commentary, but I'm glad the BBC are at least looking to get him on the team.

Well I hope they poach Moody, Ryder and Mamola for their Motogp coverage too. Their current Motogp commentators are embarrassing!

The big hope is that this time around the BBC clears enough time in the schedule for a preamble at the beginning and a summing up at the end. Previously you got to see the race and that was about it. Then again any presenter that is not pre occupied with soccer or any flowery activity would be good.

Instead of Legard, get David Croft and DC to do commentary

Why do we have to have a studio? And putting Brundle in it would be a terrible waste, he's at his best doing live commentary, his scripted pieces for ITV have been wooden by comparison, I fear he'd come across like Gary Lineker.

BBC have some great sports presenters who ask challenging questions already - Adrian Chiles, Gabby Logan - just need to get them interested in racing...

I hope BBC go for a tone similar to Match of the Day 2, and use articulate analysts from different roles in F1 - strategists, writers and engineers as well as drivers. DC would be ideal for that role.

Please God not more overpaid Alan Hansen-style super-pundits, who suck all the life out of the action.

ben edwards is a great commentator and his screaming voice makes the coverage even more exciting..........but i think he will stick to wtcc and a1gp

Great news although i'd prefer him doing his current role rather than being an anchor.

Least the door is open now where i thought it had been closed

Martin has been DC's business manager and the two would work well together. F1 insiders should be commentating rather than the daft tv journo types who mainly talk drivel. Blundel should stay on the team and keep out those that think they know F1.

rob rob. hes holding his sun glasses.

and i dont really mind who it is commentating or anchoring, as long as they know what they are talking about, provide a much more unbiased view that what weve got at the moment, and arent annoying. i would like to see the eurosport motogp team take over on the BBC motogp. but for the F1 im not so fussed, Ben edwards would be good, as long as John Wats(going)on doesnt get involved or they push someone into the sport for the first time, like that adrian chiles!

the only thing that the BBC will mess up next year will be the commentary team. Martin Brundle is way too good at what he does for him to be the "Steve Rider" once it switches to BBC.
