Easy access for Tilke-redesigned Donington.

Easy access for Tilke-redesigned Donington.

Donington Park is to be redeveloped under the watchful eye of renowned Formula 1 circuit designer Hermann Tilke, with promises that the venue – frequently criticised for its traffic problems – will be easily accessible for all.

is there no one else who can design a modern f1 circuit?

let me do it.. i can do what herman does, he only uses a ruler and a compass. Apart from one corner at Turkey, all his corners are boring as hell.

variable radius corners make for much more exciting races.

So it's bye bye Donington Park as we know it...well that will kill the bike racing and give us an F1 designed no overtaking track!!!.

First Eurosport gets given the kick, now this!...any good news for bike fans?.

Think I'm the only one who's pleased with this. The Foggy chicane, melbourne and goddards are crap - all need totally redesigning. The rest is great, but Doningtons facilities are dire (this from someone who had to use the porter loos at the track just a few weeks ago).

Hope it's done on time.

The loos are called Porta loos, although porter may be involved in the reason for needing them.

The old loop straight on at Redgate is still there _ I parked my bike there at the MotoGP, can we have that back?

i have to agree with freQ, donington has rubbish parts, and thats the bits their changing, if theyre not touching the craner curves, it baffles me what the problem is, the racers, mechanics and the fans have all complained about the 2nd half of the lap, so so what, theyre taking away a cr_p part of the track and replacing it with a longer cr_p/tilke part. the infrastructure wil no doubt be improved which can only be good for everyone.

so they knock down the old pits, build new ones instead of improving spectator facilities now they're going to build new pits across the road.Good one

It's obvious how they can get Donington ready in time for 2010.

The runway at East Midlands airport forms the new loop with cones dividing the strip up and down with the terminal building being the F1 pits and paddock area.

Could have had it ready for 09 if they pushed for it.

I am so sickof the governing bodies of both F1 and MotoGP cos neither give a flying f*&% about us!!!

In 50 years of F1 and Motorcycle racing I have seen many boring races, but I have never seen a boring race track.Except that terrible, hopeless, shambolic bend at Silverstone for BSB and WSB.Lets go to Donnington and have some fun.Mind you we will have to fork out a little extra BRASS.

Yet another beautiful circuit to be "destroied" by Tilke. Sad...
