Lewis Hamilton's father and manager Anthony has sprung to the McLaren-Mercedes star's defence in the wake of considerable media criticism over his performances in Formula 1 in 2008 – insisting the 23-year-old is not yet the finished article in the top flight.

Bring on 2009 when Fernando is a 3x wc and hamilton is in the gutter
