Did Hamilton driving style cause puncture?

Sort Comments:
Whats the official word from bridgestone on this? From the onboard shots the tyre didnt seem to have excessive wear.

Right.... before the 'Hamilton haters' (quite likely Daily Mail readers) comment on this head-line before actually reading the story - Please read the story first!!!! Notice the words 'could have been' and also the word 'suggested'.

Just like I could say Massa 'could have' pushed his engine too hard for it to blow. I'm just 'suggesting' it - it's not fact.

Who's leading the championship? Hamilton. 'Nuff said.

Couldnt of said it better rich. Im sure the low life Hamilton Haters will still slag him off though. He is leading the championship!! And is the best driver on the grid, put water on the track and see the real drivers do the job - Hamilton, Senna, Schumacher.

This is VERY poor reporting crash, very poor. If you read the whole interview on Autosport, it says:

**Hamashima ruled out a stress failure or any problem relating to excessive tyre wear – as Hamilton has suffered in the past.**

Tell the full story Crash or don't tell it at all. If anything the comments from Bridgestone lean more towards it not being Hamiltons fault, the title of your story suggests otherwise.

Can not take Crash seriously anymore.

Crash.net - you should really watch your words!!! I am starting to notice a pattern here.. I am starting to feel that your staff
enjoys the controversy that you can stir up with your 'catchy titles'. You are promoting the hatred of Lewis Hamilton,
and that makes me wonder what your true agenda is.. You should try to be more neutral in your 'responsible' manner of journalism..

Has this article been pulled? I can't see it under News anymore. If it has shame more people didn't get to see it, shows Crash up as the amature blog that it is.

Well Mr Hamashima also said,

"He made many flat spots, that is true," said Hamashima. "When there is a flat spot, it means there is a very thin shoulder area close to the ground. So maybe a sharp stone touched the sidewall, meaning there was a possibility to cause a puncture."

The question still appears to be far from settled to me, was it just one of those things or is the circumstantial evidence mounting?

From what I saw, the biggest flat spot of the entire race was probably on Massa's car after the first corner overtake. Bridgestone are suggesting the problem was caused by debris. As none of us are in a position to dispute that then this really is a pointless discussion.

Is it even possible to overdrive the motor these days with the electronic controls and limiters? I don't think anyone can blame Massa for that one. While Lewis did lock up his wheels a bit it did not seem excessive. Schu used to do this all the time and that was with a tire war going on.

I am more concerned about all of the re-fueling fires. That was completely unacceptable.

I agree with you on that one Mark. That was just bizarre and I wonder if it was just coincidence or if there has been some kind of change in the refuelling arrangements to cause the fires? Hopefully it will be investigated with some urgency. The only thing I can think of is that there may have been some kind of problem with the grounding strips that the cars drive over as they pit.
