Lewis penalty 'most perverted' ruling in F1.

Lewis penalty 'most perverted' ruling in F1.

The 25-second penalty that robbed McLaren-Mercedes star Lewis Hamilton of victory in the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps at the weekend has been slammed as ‘perverted' and ‘the worst judgement in the history of F1' – by a former Ferrari world champion.

Although i am a very passionate ferrari fan and go to several races per year including the italian grand prix i find this decision appauling. I agree with what KIMI did in terms of battling for the win and it was the best bit of racing i have seen for years and at the end of the day this is racing.

My love for F1 is still the same as i love the sport but i hate the fact that politics are starting to rule it. And before all the usual haters respond back about the fia and ferrari this is purely my point of view and us poor fans have no control over this. But think back to the 80,s when mclaren were the favoured team its just one big circle.

NL is right and the whole world apart from a few stupid Tifosi fans know that Lewis has been robbed and that the FIA is a digrace!
Only the fools at the FIA could back Max the Pervs behaviour this year and then let this sporting travesty happen.
The FIA needs to be reformed and stewardship of races run by people who know about racing and are not in the pockets of Ferrari and the Pervert.

on the incident its a shame it had to end like it did. really if lewis was more patient he would of been celebrating his best ever victory, that he did deserve. he could of passed kimi after the chicane and hairpin. he didnt need to cut it.

i still dont know if the decision was right, but with out cutting the corner he wouldnt of been as near to kimi for the hairpin(its more clear looking back now than in the heat of the moment). so yes he was guilty but the punishment i think was too much.

its frustrating as a little bit of patience and he would of been ok. but that comes with experience. massa didnt deserve to win but something need to be done, a 10 second pen, keeping lewis the win

No-one can say Lauda is wrong here, not even Ferrari if they are truthful. Yet again, F1 is out to destroy itself.
It is run by money grabbing buffoons who have the IQ of a sea slug!
Ecclestone, sort this farce out immediately!!!

Niki belongs to the previous century. The fact is hamilton raced up Kimis **** and because of that could not make te corner. Yip an error of judgement on his part but... he did not avoid a collision by hitting the brakes and fall in behind Kimi, in stead he cut the corner aggrisively gained even more momentum and thus the unfair advantage. Kimi had to slow down to go around the corner and did not have the luxury Lewis had out of the corner. O!! I forgot... Lewis did not even try to take the corner. I support the penalty 100%!!!

This is just another nail in the F1 coffin.
Mclaren will never win a world championship when the rules are stacked againts them like this

FIA = ferarri international automobiles.

cant see me watching any more races now, i will stick to watching MotoGP & WSBK

Going by some sources today as soon as Raikonnen lost his lead, ferrari were protesting and that wouldn't surprise me at all, the cry babies. NL's comments are spot on and opinions like his should be observed instead of letting guys who have never raced allow judgement. Where Is Sir Jackie, I want to know his comments. I would also like ot know KR's and FM's true thoughts instead off Unfairrari's, as any true sportsman would say I was beaten fair and square.

When Max Mosley fell in disgrace because of the sex scandal, it was Mercedes and BMW who first spoke out he should resign. From Ferrari 'no comment'. So here is the a reward for 'the reds'.

Nikki Lauda's comments are spot on. In fact i would like to see the likes of Nikki Lauda, ( who has drivern for both ferrari & mclaren),Gerhard Berger & Sir Jackie Stewart to be installed as the official Full-Time race stewards to rule on racing incidents, as they are able to look at the incident from both sides of the coin.
Implimenting the rules fairly & understanding the mentality of the drivers during a race

Gerrit spoken like a true "Tifosi fan boy"It really does not matter to you how ferrari win (fair or foul) as long as they "WIN" this is supposed to be a "SPORT" with at lest a chance of some one winning other than ferrari, why the hell else would we watch if that was not so? It does not matter who you support (Driver or Team)people would like to see a "RACE" IE moto GP,World supers, Le Mans and on and on,The last two decisions (Massa pit lane) and this have shown the world in F1 this is just not so!I know a lot of italian moto sports lovers are getting very unhappy about the blatent favoritisum now shown to there beloved ferrari.

Mike 1 spot on with your comments but dont judge all tifosi fans like gerrit. I have been a ferrari fan since 1982 when i first went to my first GP at brands hatch at the age of 6. I am a memeber of the tifosi racing club and you are right a lot of the proper ferrari fans are starting to mumble about how ferrari are starting to be seen as fia favourites.

I think the decision at SPA was shocking it was fair racing where both drivers showed a lot of bottle against each other and also trust against each other because it could have ended in tears for both drivers then this thread would be calling for one of them to be banned!!

Mike answer me this. If there was sand instead of solid surface, what do you think Lewis would have done? Instead there are 100 km of run-off spces for drivers to take riksk they otherwise would not have considered before. the is more racing of the track than on the track. And I will stick by my guns that Lewis gained extra momentum by cutting the corner and kept it too.

Hamilton addressed his error by letting the Ferrari back through!

Penalty is a travesty of racing etiquette.

Should be reversed on appeal.

I'm sorry gerrit but which race were you watching? if LH had nailed it across the chicane he would have got to La Source about 5 car lengths in front. he was round the corner and kimi quite clearly pushed him onto the run off almost causing an avoidable accident in the process. LH then let Kimi back in front with Kimi having the momentum on full throttle before he out braked him fair and square despite the reckless weaving tactics that Kimi then employed. worst decision of the entire year.

Yes Gerrit but if kimi had won the race then should 25 seconds be put onto his time because he gained momentum at the start by going off track at the first corner. This is bloody racing these thing happen and as for KIMI pushing Lewis off Racingbod its called defending your position which is totally legal and lewis would have done the same.

Why not apply some logic and the answeres will be there.
