Mosley seeking tougher media privacy laws.

Sort Comments:

Mosley seeking tougher media privacy laws.

Following on from his High Court victory against the News of the World over its front page exposé on his involvement in a sex scandal, Max Mosley is now bidding to see European media privacy laws strengthened to prevent similar cases from occurring in the future.

The brazen cheek of this despicable man is unbelievable!

He should have resigned!

He has brought his sport into disrepute and he is a laughing stock.

Shame on you Moseley.

Can I ask this stoopid question to British readers? Is prostitution legal or illegal in the UK?

This guy has no shame. Anybody who cares about F1, as he claims to would have resigned and gone to hide under a rock somewhere but Mosely is still poncing around as if what he was caught doing was normal and respectable.

Max Mosley is a malignant narcissist. By nature he displays what Psychologists call an 'arrogant affect', or basically, an arrogant nature that is totally unaware of any faults. (Ego-Syntonic).

Max Mosley enjoys the physical harm of others, (in a sexual context) - and sees this as pleasurable.

Now tell me if I'm wrong here, but when we were 18, did we fantasize about making people bleed or beat them? making people beg for mercy in a 'sexual context'? No. That is somewhat wrong, it it not?

In most countries, this is illegal. Indeed, S&M/BSDM was illegal in Britain until the late 1970's where it was de-classifed as a mental disorder needing Psychiatric treatement.

He's damaged.

I am no fan of Max as regards his tenure as FIA president and say what you want about Max as FIA president or whether he should have resigned when the scandal broke.
I agree with him completely as regards what he is trying to establish as regards privacy rights and strengthening privacy laws. The British press, among others, is out of control. How would you feel if the press was as intrusive into the details of your private life? Think about that for a moment.

lisa, spot on. the thread was about privacy, to which everyone has a right to, yet the posts are all personal attacks on mosley. i wonder how many of the previous posters can claim to be as pure as the driven snow? mosley has been given a vote of confidence, he has won his court case and whether we like it or not, he is entitled to get on with his life. it will be interesting to see who in Formula 1 was responsible for setting up the sting.

Lisa and Rich ard are the same people that complain about police sobriety checkpoints. If you are not doing anything wrong (or just morally corrupt as the case may be) you have nothing to worry about. The only people concerned about privacy are the ones who have things to hide.Mose Maxley may have other skeletons he wants to hide, hence his appeal. What a pompous *ss. Everyone has a right to privacy, agreed, but illegal activities behind closed doors are still illegal.

Lisa is right. We all need protection from a tabloid press which routinely destroys people's lives - not just the rich and famous, but ordinary people. Mosley is doing us all a service.

The News of the World spent four days in the London High Court trying to establish that Mosley had done something illegal. They failed miserably and ended up paying record damages and about 1 million pounds in costs. The judge found that it was the News of the World that had acted illegally, not Mosley.

What Mosley does as president of the FIA has nothing to do with his case against the newspaper. You may not agree with the former but all sensible people will support his stand on the latter.

Moseley deceived his wife and children. No amount of moralising can cover up his sordid betrayal of his family. he also dragged his sport through the mill by not resigning and has become a figure of fun lampooned endlessly. He must go.

richard i have written a post in reply to lisa (whoever you are calling yourself) but for some reason it has not appeared on the list of posts. I find youre comments insulting to everyone who trys to look after their children & family and protect them from evil people(do you not agree). The fact that max is for all this privacy stuff is just another indication of how people in official capacities who have gained financial status try and bend the law to their own benefit. It seems to me richard that you have a lot more to hide than max is trying to protect.

Also RICHARD we ALL will be interested in seeing who has set up the "STING" as you put it as you obviously seem to think there is a conspiracy against somenoe in F1. I think your reasoning is not really sound and a bit pretencful as it is based on fiction and not fact. It really gets me going when you start to quote things that are not factual or true in any sence please please be factual (im going to enjoy reading youre long drawn out reply that is going to based drole and about nothing else really).

Observer what are you trying to hide it's like the old "I dont believe in identity cards syndrome" if you dont like the idea of the I.D. cards what have you got to hide from all of the rest of us. Some ilicit past i reckon (MP'S TOTTIES) and my opinion on this goes as far as MP'S and all the rest who object to it (WHAT HAVE YOU GOT TO HIDE MP'S) if youre ok and a solid member of the comunity then you have nothing to hide

I am a member of the Libertarian party in the US. However, it doesn't serve the cause of civil liberties to promote illegal activities under the guise of "privacy". What other crimes are OK if you do them in private? People who want to advance the concepts of privacy protection should not be so obviously self-serving as Herr Mosley.

Barry may be drinking tonight, but his totalitarian view will only become more popular if it is understood that blatant criminal self-interest is what underlies laws that protect civil liberties, rather than principles of fairness, etc.
