Lewis Hamilton took a huge stride towards becoming Formula One world champion in his rookie season after keeping his head where others lost theirs in treacherous conditions at Fuji Speedway.
great race pace in the wet from Hamilton and brilliant driving..just two questions though..why was Alonso realised into traffic while Hamilton was not..and why Kubica got a penalty for hitting lewis..whilst Vettel did not recieve one for hitting Alonso..anyway the title looks to be in his reach..which is a great Achievement..regardless

answer, because alonso was 3 seconds behind hamilton which unfortunately for him was enough to land him in traffic.

Robert left the collision scene ahead of Lewis so technically he gained a place, as for the Alonso thing, Lewis came in a lap later so it's probably fair to say they had both ran out of fuel.
If anything was dodgy with pit stops today it was Massa's well timed splash and dash, which let Kimi past, who is fighting for the title

Ferrari... talk about rule breaking... all teams told to go out on full extreme wets (by race director Charlie Whiteing) so what do Ferrari do, they go on intermediates (the only team to do so).
I was very pleased to see the prancing horse got what they deserved.
Well done to McLaren and Renault to sticking it to them.
Hamilton must have thought all his Christmas' had come at once!

If there was anybody out there that doubted Mr. Hamilton's ability they should be throughly convinced of his talents after this race.
FANTASTIC JOB LEWIS
As for Ferrari not getting the e-mail---BS--just another whining cry from a losing team. Maybe they thought they could win the race with a missing e-mail like they won the case against McClaren with a e-mail.
Ferrari go drink some wine and take your loss like a man!
that will shut them cry baby alonso fans up - well done lewis - fantastic drive - alonso sucked too - ha ha ha :-)

Just got back to China from Japan...what a race and what a performance by Lewis Hamilton!!! The conditions were even worse than they looked on TV and visibility was non existent down on the track with the fog as well. I guess he has now buried that old chestnut of not having done it in the wet after the Nurburgring.
Alonso was rather unfortunate today with the timing of his pit-stop and damaged sustained to the chassis in a collision (I think with Vettel) but that should not detract from Lewis' day. 12 point gap now and I'm hoping he can consolidate this next weekend in Shanghai.
Ferrari I have only just found out about their mishaps, but they would have got no where near Lewis today.

Good old Ferrari tried to cheat again,I believe they were the only people on this planet, that did not know they had to start on full weather wet tyres.Did they think the weather may get better and they could disappear into the sunset?. Our Lewis Hamilton is the pride of Britain. Our rooky did not ma ke one single mistake, everyone must be over the moon with his achievements so far in his LEARNING the art of F1.
Hamilton is the pride of Britain, but, McLaren, Stepney and Coughlan are the shame of Britain...

Well done lewis very good race, watch you antics before safety car comes in tho... schu eventually got caught out doing it.
that race should never of spend 40mins under safety car its either safe to race or it isnt. and in this case it was safe so should of been from a standing start too, what is this Indy car ? i nearly went back to bed cos the first half of a race was a joke and was unfair on the people at the front 2 stopping lewis and fernando etc. one got away with being knocked off one didnt but both should never of been in that position.
off subject but how amazing again was the world superbikes today, that is proper racing and title going down to the wire! cant wait for next week!

Enough already! I'm actually preferring SPEED Channel's (USA) commentary over ITV's Allen and Brundel. Please relieve me of this overtly biased, God Bless The UK syndrome with Lewis. Admittedly, he's an amazing talent but guys, there are 21 other drivers out there. I always thought Brundel was one of the best, most unbiased commentators but I'm beginning to have severe doubts. The gooble-de-gook favouritism that emminates from ITV is making me gag, bring back James Hunt and a couple of glasses of Moet, he told it straight up and I betch you he would say, "Lewis is a robot! "

Lewis Hamilton is world champion for 2008. It's done, superb and magnificent season rookie year! All he has to do will be to drive and finish within the first 8 positions in the next two races. Not at all bad for a rookie who never put a wrong wheel all this season.
Ferrari will have to lick its wound for their mistakes this season. While inheriting the manufacturer's championship, they're still not as good as McLaren.

Like Micheal,LH will learn as time goes. Even though i never respected MS but yet i feel that he was much better person wen he retired as compared to wat he was at the beginning of his career.. TRUST ME, lH will learn with time.
NO matter how big a campion he is, he is still 21 and he has tht kid in him like all of us.

Michael, it makes a change that the british press are getting behind a british sportstar. Don't you remember for the past 10+ years there was only one driver out there (one Michael Schumacher). Every commentator had to say how brilliant he was, yada, yada, yada. How some people have short memories. Every year there is a golden boy that all the commentators love. This year it's Lewis, next year it may be Kubica. Who knows, but there will always be one that is spoken about more than the rest.
