Following on from his Singapore triumph, Fernando Alonso sent out a clear message that former Formula 1 World Champions Renault are back with a bang in the top flight, by storming to a sensational second consecutive success in the Japanese Grand Prix at Fuji.
I am not a FA fan but he did drive a magnificent race... Congrats to Fernando: Piquet and Renault.

FA has showed the world this year who is numer 1 driver. Hamilton move in t1 was mad, what was he thinking about, and why did not he take a wider exit after his move on massa? He had the WC there and he let it go....

OCTOBER 12, 2008 Bourdais penalised, Massa gets another point
The FIA Stewards isseud a weird ruling at the end of the Japanese Grand Prix, penalising Sebastien Bourdais 25secs for a collision with Felipe Massa. The additional time meant that Bourdais loses his sixth place, falling to 10th behind Sebastian Vettel, Felipe Massa, Mark Webber and Nick Heidfeld.
The decision was odd in that most observers thought that the investigation into the incident would consider whether Massa should be punished as Bourdais appeared to be ahead when the collision occurred. NO COMMENTS (source:grandprix.com)

@ savas. i just hope you are mistaken, if not than, that FIA/Ferrari conspiracy thing just gets bigger, like the lunar landings one, where now we all know they didn't take place....tangential but interesting

I am so tired of F1.. not even watching the races anymore

Bravo to FA and Renault, not a great fan of him though, but he did do a great race, and shows that he knows how to take advantage from other drivers mistakes.
@unreal : Briattore being italian, be sure that him and ferrari always work together in the shadow .

these things come in 3s...Alonso stayed out of trouble and took full advantage of what went on around him...Sit pretty next week in China Fernando and let the diddys ruin their own chances...swoop in and make it a hat-trick of wins!!! This result certainly spices things up for the final 2 races and I aint brave enough to predict who will come out in front...Hamilton determined to chuck it away - again...Massa doesnt look capable at times yet keeps getting the FIA sponsored breaks....Flip of a coin to decide things????
Hamiltona and Massa both got penalties, Kimi was pushed down to 7th and Hamilton spun!
Of course Alonso wins, hardly rocket science is it.

great drive, showed what he can do and why he is probably still the best. not sure why there is a suprise about how consistant and calm his race was, because thats how he won his 2 world titles, which some people have forgotten.
as for lewis, i was super impressed yesterday. i think the penalty was harsh, but if kimi hadnt got TOTTALLY out the way there would of been a huge shunt. and lewis was out of control of his car(and himself).
as for massa, his move was stupid and deserved his penalty also
i would say that neither deserved it, or both deserved it. not for one + not the other as both was poor driving with no regard for other racers. calm down lewis, learn mate u can win it.

don't particularly like FA, but have always acknowledged his driving, he is still the best "driver" on the current F1 grid
Lewis & Felipe both seem determined to throw the championship away. Fernando once again showed why he along with Hakkinen were the only two drivers capable of beating Schumi.
Kimi had another largely 'disinterested but i'll go for the fastest lap' drive.
Maybe Robert can win the title instead?! He seems to be doing wonders with his car and makes very few mistakes. He is in the running & importantly deserves it!

well done fernando it seems the stage is set for the last race of the season one brazilian driver racing at a brazilian race track i hope massa does it and proves a point to ferrari
for Emma Hughes and Hebert Clinker: please, review the video of the start of the race and tell us who do you think was wiser, avoiding to crash and looking for the space. Given the car FA has, he is doing an outstanding job. The worse of many people is not to recognize others achievements

and to unreal: it looks obvious you do not see races any more. Otherwise you would have seen that the Renault has been improving race to race. He had bad luck lately but FA could have gotten a good result earlier.

I hope Alonso stays with Renault. I really think the could be in the title hunt next year. I understand why Honda wants him, he seems to be one of the few drivers in F1 that knows how to help a team develop a car. Schumacher was the other notable example in this area. There are quick drivers out there, but if they can't tell the engineers what is working the car does not get better.
Watching Massa, Hamilton, and Kimi crumble under pressure is becoming pathetic. It is refreshing to see Renault, BMW, and Toro Rosso turning out some good races. I may not like Alanso's personal BS, but he is the real deal when he is in the ****pit.

The fact that BMW Sauber hasn't made any progress with their car since 3 months put them in 5~6 place in pace standings. That shows how hard Kubica needs to keep his consistency to gain anything in this championchip. Big respect for him and I hope BMW just work on with the all new F1.09 model. I'm also happy with Alonso's 1 place, maybe after China or Brasil he'll make hat-trick? He somehow best suits with Renault team, not in McLaren or even Ferrari.
