Singapore and Japanese Grand Prix winner Fernando Alonso has vowed that should the opportunity present itself, he will ‘help' Ferrari's Felipe Massa to prevail in the 2008 Formula 1 World Championship.
i think as ever he is having a laugh with the interviewer, he has his own job to do. but if him getting a podium at china or brazil that means he takes points away from mclaren then great of course that would please him
even better he has the chance to finish ahead of Kova in the championship. which says so much about his talent.
and he is right, the number of points scored by the front 2 is very low for this stage of the game. For me Kubica has been the driver of the year, and with a bit of support and more development, he may of been champion. yes look at next year but whos to say bmw will be quick next year? this year was their chance! and it may of slipped away.

dont believe the twisting press til u have heard the full interview mcfly. we all know alonso drives for himself only. or he would of let kubica win yesterday for the championship?
u might think he is sad, but he showed the world yesterday how to drive a f1 car better than anyone else

Sorry to hijack the thread but here's a funny story. I went to a 'proper' sporting event last night, the Horse Of The Year Show - I'm not horsey but my daughter is, I was just chauffeur. In the against-the-clock jump-off, an Irish guy took the win (from 5 Brits) by taking a legal, but very risky short-cut. As the applause died down, the guy next to me said to his mate 'thank God Ferrari don't do showjumping, or he would have been given 25seconds for that'. Says it all about what a joke F1 has become in the world at large.

regardless of the context he said these comments in, I say fair enough..Its still my firm belief that Ron Dennis and the Hamiltons screwed him over last season at Mclaren and he has any and every right to support whomever he wants. Some are saying he is being bitchy and what not - hey not unlike the rest of the grid then - but if he screws over Hamilton in favour of Massa some people might just say its Karma
