Hamilton facing action over Fuji actions?

Sort Comments:

Hamilton facing action for Fuji driving?

His focus should be on trying to tie up the Formula 1 title this weekend in China, but instead Lewis Hamilton is under investigation for his driving behind the Safety Car during the Japanese Grand Prix at Fuji last weekend.

Pathetic. Always bl*ody Aussies or Gerries having a pop at British drivers cos they are getting their butts kicked on the track.

Of course Vettels gonna get behind Webber on this one, the boys got some serious **** licking to do. I wouldnt be suprised if the Ferrari Innocence Assured Stewards do strip Lewis's points, it means that the championships still open, all the figure heads have always maintained they wanted the championship to conclude at the season finale.

it's wonderful news... but... They won't disqualify him. They dont have the guts. Hamilton has had a free ride all year and it wont stop now, perhaps they can crane lift him to the chequered flag would that suit you Golden boy fans?

I'm sorry, what? Can Mark Webber be any more of a tit? I watched him follow hamilton way to closely for the whole safety car period. If he'd been watching hamilton in the 1st safety car stint and known how he behaved (which he said he did), why put his car in danger? This has happened before with no action taken. anyone remember button crashing at Monza when schumacher all but stopped? This was in the wet where they couldn't see and should have taken even more care. It's up to the 1st car in the queue to decide what he does and everyone else has to follow. tough luck mark, blame vettel for "being distracted" or won't red bull let you?!

I don't suppose that this has anything to do with the fact that Torro Rosso (aka Red Bull junior) is uses ferrari engines!!

Just had a look at the video. Hamilton did nothing on purpose, that much is clear. But to behave like this under the appalling conditions is gross misbehaviour due to inexperience. Webber already was past Hamilton when Vettel hit him. And no wonder Vettel looked at Hamilton; that seemed like trouble on Lewis' car. I once drove Formula Ford and F3, and we would have been severly punished for an action like that, especially in the wet. Imagine Schumacher would have done it: the whole of British Motor Racing would have cried: PENALTY! Hamilton will be handed something for sure, maybe a 30sec penalty. And I suspect it will be for the sake of TV audiences in Brazil, too!!!

Anything by the FIA to even up the title.

To be honest, I didn't see too much wrong in Lewis Hamilton's driving behind the safety car, conditions were poor and it must have been difficult to handle the situation.

People have egg on their faces and need to formulate an excuse or 2 to spare their dignity.

I do feel sorry for Mark Webber though, he really was robbed of that 2nd place and if I was him I would be annoyed as well. Vettel too, but he did make a schoolboy error...he even said that he wasn't watching what was going on in front of him.

Mirror, signal, manoeuver!

@racing bod:
Seems you don't know what you're talking about, mate. As the first car in the queue you have to stick within 5 cars lenghts behind the safety car. Plus you are not allowed hazardous actions. Even if Hamilton got to the extreme right, this was putting others in danger for no reason. Look at the result. It was a completely unneccesary move, and I am pretty sure that he'll get reprimanded.

Here we go again. One way or another the FIA are going stop Hamilton winning the title. Hamilton will be banned, after china Alonso will be penalised and oh look Raikonen has won for ferrari. Stuff formula 1 I have had it up to the back teeth with it. And as for Webber, the next aussie that calls ME a whinging pom is going to get a slap.

Why cant they just come clean and say what this new evidence is? The way it was done they are just lighting the fire and letting the media through more petrol on it by speculating. For once FIA should come clean and allow for transparency. They just dont learn...

I think this season has gone from one of the most competitive ever to one of the most manipulated ever - be it by Ferrari, McLaren, Hamilton, Alonso, Max, Bernie - they are all as bad as each other, and this has turned this season into a farce.

Lets just wait and see what kind of ridiculous penalty they give Hamilton so that Alonso, Kimi and Massa (even him, why not) are still in with a shot at the title.

I think this is being pushed around for the purpose of the television audience. It would be a nice leveller in the title race eh!

Keep it exciting and keep the other drivers in the hunt for the title.

Hamilton didn't really do much wrong in my opinion, and his driving was no different to any other racer behind the safety car in such conditions.

I share Webber's disapointment, as he was totally robbed...but there are a few chaps looking for excuses now. Is this not motor racing? Vettel wasn't watching what was going on in front of him and he paid the price. I hope he learns from his mistake and builds on his spectacular performance last weekend!

All of this shows how rotten F1 is today. For years it's been Michael Schumacher as a scare crow. Now he is gone, and bing: the 2007 season simply is the worst since what or when? Scandal after scandal, pathetic. It's all ruled by money and a bundle of British egos. Go **** yourself, boys.
