DTM champion, Gary Paffett has said that it was 'great' to again get behind the wheel of an
F1 car this week, when he completed a further two-days' of testing for McLaren-Mercedes.
The Brit, who also ran for
McLaren at Barcelona the week before, notched up over 600 kilometres despite an engine failure on Thursday, which led to his rear wheels locking on the main straight and saw the car spin backwards into a wall causing significant damage to the rear of the chassis.
"It was great to put in another two days of testing with Team McLaren Mercedes this week," reflected Paffett. "[Despite the crash] I completed in two days over 600kms in the MP4-20B and more than 300km the week before in Barcelona, which in addition to working on the development programme with the team, has continued to provide me with more
Formula One experience."
McLaren meanwhile will remain at the
Jerez for their final test before the Christmas break this week - they begin work on Tuesday December 13 and will be in action for three-days, Pedro de la Rosa being joined by race driver,
Juan Pablo Montoya. Paffett will not be on track.
